I'm saving up all my dog **** from this week for anyone that's lined up early
Fou' Foune tapping right when they open, there is going to be a line. Things are just not what they use to be. Way more people into craft beer compared to a year ago. Taking into account the Cantillon drought in Chicago. Wouldn't be surprised if people bring their Mom's to get another pour.
I just stopped hating on the lines. I just show up with a bottle to share, a unsuspecting coffee mug and a good, friendly attitude. Time just fly's by that way.
On the bottle share, I never waited inline outside of Northdown and don't go there enough to really know the vibe. Not worried about the Chicago Police, they have better things to do then make some beer geeks pour out a bottle. Plenty of places have no quarries about sharing bottle's inline or in the bar/store for special occasions, Capones and Fischmans for example. Capones even set out a table in the parking lot dedicated to a bottle share for the BCBS release, cops drove by and didn't give a ****.
Most of us know the difference between a Darklord day and a tapping in the City, so far I haven't seen any dumb asses ruin the tradition and get busted or super drunk while waiting in line. Shares in line, it the city anyways are not about getting drunk but about being generous and meeting new people.

You're missing the entire point. It doesn't look good for the neighborhood for people to be standing in front of a bar drinking beer outside before they go in to an event and drink more beer. I'm sure their neighbors wouldn't appreciate a bunch of guys drinking outside their place of business. Just don't do it.

Just FYI, I notified the owners
Geez bro. Way to not be a bro.
On a serious bro to bro level, if you want to drink your own beer, why not just stay home? Do some bros not have any other bros to broshare with on the other 364 brotherf'n days of the brocalendar?
On a real level, I think a part of my brain gets drainpoured every time I read or hear the term bro.

Well if the owners specifically said no I can respect that. Don't give a crap that it is illegal though. This is Chicago and Merica, everything is illegal . Like smoking pot on your porch, downloading a network TV show to drinking a beer at the Metra station. Cops just don't care because this isn't the burbs and they have really things to deal with. I'm not a proponent of getting wasted in public and well aware that a Chicago Cop will ass rape you with his Nightstick if your are being a drunk ******* on the street.Just FYI, I notified the owners and they ask for anyone coming to please do not bring or open bottles while waiting in line. It's illegal, bottom line. They will have employees at the door checking the line for anyone opening bottles outside. Please respect their wishes and let's just concentrate on the 50 some-odd kegs being tapped throughout the day. Hopefully, that's going to be enough beer for anyone/everyone.
Except for the GIF I'm having BA forum flashbacks while reading this postWell if the owners specifically said no I can respect that. Don't give a crap that it is illegal though. I will not live my life in accordance with stupid laws but in the way my actions effect people and property. For example, the owners don't want people drinking in front of their property, that should be followed because you are a guest and there for should respect their wishes. On the other hand if a proprietor welcomes it, **** the police
Even in recent history Homebrewing was frown apon. What if people just said "its illegal, Bottom line". Would we even have Craft Beer today?
Granted you have a point now, the owners said no Bottles, so I guess we are on the same page on that matter. Do find it kind of funny you went all hall monitor though. For that you get a gif.

Same. If it was bombers again, I wouldn't bother.I thought this beer was solid enough. Will definitely be picking up at least one 4-pack.
Bottle shares are for release parties. Not bar/liquor store parking lots.Same. If it was bombers again, I wouldn't bother.
And what the **** is it with some people and the pathological need to drink beer while waiting for more beer? This isn't college. Grow the **** up and wait 10 minutes until you get inside.
So excited about the cans, maybe that means it is going to be released on a more regular bases. Considering the extra cost to produce the mold for the can. Love the labels. For anyone else a fan of the art, Creative minds on tap at jerry's was released on Youtube. Phineas X. Jones had some funny stories on creating the Big Hugs art.Beer Hates Astronauts is returning! I was a huge fan of this beer even though it didn't get a great consensus rating.

Really interested in wasting my Friday at Lions Tigers and Beers - is this event free admission and they just charge for the pours, or is there a fee to get in as well? Additionally, does anyone know the deets of the raffle? i.e. one ticket enters you in all raffles, or each raffle has a separate ticket/drawing.
Part of owning a business is your relationship with your neighbors; both businesses and tenants. Most people don't understand beer geeks and dont want idiots drinking on the sidewalk near their business/home. This isn't a standalone business with a designated, private parking lot. Its a bar smack in the middle of a city block.Well if the owners specifically said no I can respect that. Don't give a crap that it is illegal though. Just to make sure I have things straight - it's $5 cover and absolutely no bottles inside, outside is fine and small grills only.
