Took about 45 mins to get through the line. Still saw a fair amount behind the sales stations but I could see it selling out tonight if the line stays as long as it was.

Everything appears to be on draft still.

Edit - good luck tomorrow morning!

Also, how do I get these draft pours credited to my Rev Reward account?

Limited > Select, btw.
Café is interesting this year - really, really good with a strong blueberry flavor. Not necessarily well integrated, though. Like, I can taste the coffee really well and then I can taste the beer. The barrel might, I don’t know, get in the way. I find Coffee Eugene more blended? Integrated?

Did anyone do fobab tonight? Looking at this list and seeing a lot of wtf is a hailstorm. I mean if the price is right I could go post up at Ryeway but still.

I went with some work colleagues for a client outing and had a pretty good time. I will say though that the Friday night session is not a good look if you don’t have imbibe access. A lot of stuff seemed like it was tapped by the time we got in at 6:15 and a ton of kegs were kicked by 7.

I think the selection overall was lacking compared to years past and the festival suffers from the pastry wave we are all riding. All that sweet **** tastes the same after 2-3 pours and conditioning beers on a mounds bar or whatever isn’t exactly a showcase for wood/barrel aging. There were also several stations that had signs saying the beers just hadn’t shown up i.e. Casey and Cerebral.

There was still plenty of great stuff though and some of my highlights included:
Off Color’s thing in the sour room was fire (the beer other than staveyard)
Cinnamon benthic was very good
More and Hailstorm took up the task of pouring light beers in one of the corners. I enjoyed strawberry marbles and LOVED the dortmunder with Huell Melon I think? That may have been my favorite beer of the day.
Both transient beers were excellent.
Vanilla And Bramble are both very very good. The rest of the bcs lineup not so much.
The strawberry rhubarb beer from arc light was the best fruit beer I had.

Biggest disappointment was probably the apple brandy barley wine from Cigar City that smelled like a gas canister or the Horus stout that I assume was conditioned on coffeemate creamer. I also don’t quite understand the love for lil beaver.

Went to Goose Fulton last night prior to the Hawks game, and was pleasantly surprised to have a few new BCS that I had never tried before.

Double Barrel BCS
Double Barrel Brandy BCS (lurchingbeast not as good as that amazing 5 year Brandy BCS we tried on the brewers deck months back, but pretty close)
BCS Templeton Rye (Never heard the story about this being a packaged variant that ran into licensing issues prior to last night)
Regal Rye

and the Bissel Maple Stout which was a BCS in every aspect except for the name.

I bet someone in the War Room has a good tip for this...where in town do you go for the best blood and/or duck sausage?

Congrats to middlebrow on winning a gold at FoBAB.

Also to Hopewell, Off Color, Werk Force, Pollyanna, and More for also winning Golds.

Shoutout to Four Fathers on their bronze for DB Wheelhouse. Karetas got two silvers? Lots of medals for Chicago area breweries you never hear much about.
Thanks man...there was something to funny about the well adjusted bryan (officially now the head brewer) being excited to win and me, the jaded d-bag that takes no joy in anything, being excited solely for the ironically funny picture with rahmbo. Here’s me leaning in and demanding a picture with rahm while I’m sorta laughing at him. My friends think we might get a few more inspections before our opening now. The real question is, who is karetas, and have you ever seen their stuff anywhere. Are they new? Helluva way to come outta the gate.

who is karetas

Not sure if this is the most annoying way to create hype or a legtimately unique way to sell direct. It's probably the former, considering every beer is listed as either "limited," "very limited," or barrel-aged, which they later point out are even smaller batches and therefore like super limited or something.

I like how they say the only way to get their beers outside of trade sites is to be on “The List”. Can’t say I have ever seen there beer on any trade sites.

So they're trying to go with the Pips strategy, circa 2016/17?

Oh wow, these beers sound great!
Cant wait for the hot dumpster fire that will be Iggys Imperial IPA (16%)!!!

The weird part is that they had the time to make a webpage, and sections for each beer but failed to give us any information about half of the brews, other than names and wierd religious themed pictures.

Well, this guy's in prison. So more for the rest of us.

I like the part about their commitment to small batches for the highest quality.

I’ll make sure to send out messages to Rev and Allagash to pack it up and quit while they can, cuz these guys do barrel aging in small batches.

I saw itasca on their name, so I’m guessing it’s contract outta church. So that seems like doubly fishy weird.
