Honestly, I'd say outside of the Eeek! and Market Rate releases, it seems that only Coffee Dino draws out the beer zombie hoards. I'm nervous if we ever bring out the barrel aged version again in bottles, it'll be a swampy mess...
Didn't Eeek! stick around in the shop for like months afterwards? And Market Rate last at least through the weekend? BA Dino may bring people out... but none of these are Villa Park levels of hype. Again, not a complaint, just interesting.

we got a bunch of barrels bubblin for our foeders and future bases and will for sure blend out the low ph freakout barrels. i dont get the love for the paint peelers, how do you enjoy another beer or food for the rest of the day. could you pair 6 ounces of an bruery zour with any meal?
Yeah, this is why I entered exactly one Upland lottery, then never again. It was just undrinkably sour... and I sip straight sherry/balsamic vinegar on occasion.

Then again, craft beer seems to min/max everything at some point. Sour, hops, sweetness in pastry stouts, double/triple barrel aged, haze, fruit juice... a constant race to have the "most".

I do, which is why I love this beer. It has just a hint of acid that really just enhances the overall flavor profile of the beer. The people love acid bombs which is why Market Rate was so popular, but I found it way too dominant and in Miscellanea it compliments everything else...

I had family in town all weekend and couldn’t break away and this week is all booked up. Did any of it get kegged and if so how long do you think it will last? I think I’ll be able to sneak a trip to Mousetrap in early Friday evening.

Eeek! had a much larger bottle count and Market Rate lasted two weekends. Both releases were very well attended and it was a rather busy pretty the entirety of both those days. I think because OC doesn’t do haze or follow trends is what makes these releases much more relaxed and leaves some pretty amazing beer to be tried or purchased to go with ease...

It should be on draft for a while, so you’ll be fine. Worse case, I have two bottles I picked up for myself and if ya miss out completely, I’ll gladly sell ya one at cost. Not that it should come down to that, but happy to help out if it does...

Had a broker cancel a happy hour that was supposed to happen today. So looks like I’ll get there and try some today, thanks anyways for the offer!

I really enjoyed Miscellanea on tap, and I am really excited to see how those bottles age. The release was definitely a refreshing change of pace to other breweries releases that involve waiting in line for an hour plus for a beer limited to a 1-2 bottle purchase. Only hope they start caging and corking these sour releases someday soon!

Exactly this, I dont mind a little acidity but it needs to remain drinkable in quantities larger than a monopoly thimble.

Same thing goes for stouts - I was at a brewery in Elk Grove and I had a hard time finishing two 5oz pours of their stouts because they were so under attenuated that they tasted like they were tbagged with sugar post boil

Congrats! Batting .000 on prop and rare days myself. Resigned to Black Friday early am hunting for bcs and hope the revo releases are announced soon.

Said the same in the other site (deleted)... ISO Nath, Prop Day+1 status, Prop/Vanilla, and VSOJ (pre) - busy that day.

I was in the same boat until this year, and I’m sure it will be awhile until I win it again. Now if I can just hit this 470 million dollar lottery I should be set for this week

No problem, happy to help! Just came back from The Trap myself and there are still bottles to-go. As for the corked and caged, it will never happen, I can just say keep your eyes peeled on the new releases. Definitely gonna be different...

poked around and didn't see if this sort of thing is chill (i did see rules against buying/selling alcohol but not tickets for under face), but i've got an extra to the far and away morning session avalable for under face ($70 all-in). would also accept equivalent donation to a charity of my choice in lieu of direct payment. let me know if you need one.

Late to the party, but it’s been a while since I’ve had time to spare in Lincoln Park. Finally made it to two spots I’ve been itching to check out.

Goose Island Renovated - In a vacuum, it would probably be a great spot. Clean, friendly, welcoming, well laid out, etc. But in reality, it’s a cold shell of it’s former self. It really and truly lost its soul and character that had been built up of 25+ Years. The food was good. Adan was great - he said he recognized me (I’m not sure he did) and comped me a beer. I won’t say I’ll never go back, but the draw just isn’t there anymore.

Off Color Mouse Trap - Frankly, the interior aesthetics really aren’t that different that Goose Island Renovated. Brick/Tile walls with windows into the brewhouse. (Like I said, in a vacuum, GI Renovation wouldn’t be a bad spot...) Attentive staff, great beer. Miscellanea was excellent, although not sure if worth $20/750ml. Definitely a nice spot to have a nice beer.

Is anyone still seeing tilquin or boon mariage parfait (2011 or 2013) on the shelves? If you have a spot you want to keep secret, thats fine too; happy to pay your costs plus thank you beers if you want to grab. I think most cantillon hit Chicago last month and is long gone now. Holding out hope some of my favorite gueuzes are still out in the Chicago wild, despite the usual suspects being barren. Same offer for any 3F, but thats hen’s teeth these days. Its a shame bc there are cases of MP and 3F just sitting in MI (and I assume WI and IN).

Buy a 3F volume pack from BiaB and call it a day.

Plenty of Boon MP at various Binny's, use their website.

Yikes, that BA Henna Batch 4 unannounced ticket sale came and went fast. I was 15 minutes late and struck out. Hope someone in this crew had luck!

It’s good to have a group message with your friends going for situations like this. I’ve never been to More but I’ll be stopping there Friday on my way to VSOJ thanks to this bottle release. It went super smooth for 5 minutes then not so much.
