When I first mentioned the infection reports to my friend, he simply said "I doubt it." I don't think they gave it much thought until reports came flooding in.

I do like how people are blaming InBev as if they are micromanaging Fulton & Wood. They bought Goose in 2011 and this is at least the 4th year Bourbon County has been released on their watch. Beer nerds just need some narrative that "InBev takes over GI, ruins BCS." And I hate that Coffee and Barleywine bottles are infected as much as anyone.

If you want to really look for scapegoats, look at who is running the Fulton & Wood facility. Hint: They have been at GI longer than the InBev acquisition and chase off most brewers within 2 years.
Woof mothafucka woof woof

He worked for a MUCH more prestigious brewery than Goose, man. Come on!
Someone told me he hired a new brewer. The guy worked there for 6 days. Apparently he told Andrew that maybe he should change his recipes up and maybe people would drink his beer. He was fired immediately

LOLOL

I am beyond shocked.

I drove out there once last summer and the majority of the beers were pretty terrible. Most tasted like plastic. The peanut butter beers weren't awful, but nothing I'd want to drink again.

He's just not in touch with what sells or marketing

His forte is Social Media Management.

#1 specialty is constantly posting about how everything is breaking or going wrong at the brewery. Every single day. Valve broke and flooded the building with gas. Firkin exploded overnight and soaked the place with beer. Bottling beer for a release and the bottler broke day-of. Something went wrong while brewing and the temperature didn't crash fast enough - sure hope this batch is okay! Come to my tap takeover! Oh **** they never delivered the beer to my tap takeover! No one's been in the taproom for the last two hours on an NFL Sunday for some reason!

If you made a spoof twitterbot that was called "DailyBreweryDisaster" and it just posted randomly-generated brewery-related problems every 24 hours, it would be indistinguishable.

In his defense, this is all on his personal account and not the official business one, but LAWD JAYSUS. Even if his beer was world-class phenomenal I would be afraid to go there for fear that the ******* building would collapse on top of me. After I drank a beer from a keg that was accidentally filled with mop water first.

For a while, he abstained (complete with complaints about how he was told he needed to "whitewash" his positings), but ultimately **** that, because this is the sort of stuff that has to be broadcast.

I did like how they were selling there "Anniversary" beers for $15, and then wouldn'y you know it, about a week later they were selling for $5. You think the people that bought the $15 beers asked for $10 back? :D
My last day was the day before the anniversary party. He goes you're coming right???? The blank face I made had to have been priceless.

RedCoffee I feel like I haven't seen you since before Christmas. We'll have to get together soonish

Didnt he post about flies in the fermenter on facebook????

Yes indeed. But they caught it and cleared all of that out right before they started brewing!

That was actually my tipping point on the place. They have the occasional beer that tastes good and it's close to home, but there are some lines you don't cross. I know almost every brewhouse is less than sterile-laboratory-clean. They're usually in some old abandoned warehouse or something.

But you gotta let the customer delude himself into thinking the beer you're selling was made on extremely clean equipment. Isn't that the whole thing with brewing - "it's mostly cleaning?" Finding fruit flies in your fermenter serendipitously - like "oh wow good thing we caught that!" - and then NOT treating it like a mortifying secret you immediately squash from existence... No way.

These last few posts have me intrigued. I'm obviously not in the know so can someone divulge what place is being talked about. I can't decide if I should never step foot in this establishment or go there and crush some beers and see what all the ballyhoo is about. Please pm if you don't want to post.

Ditto, especially on the mixed feelings whether to celebrate the place or avoid it like the plague

I believe powz87 was the professional voice of reason for Cademon. The owner decided to go in another direction.

Coffee Straight Jacket on Nitro (as well as regular Straight Jacket on Nitro) was....different. Not bad, but it didn't really do anything for me. Am I the only one coming away with that impression? Maybe I just like straight up regular Straight Jacket too much so the added coffee/nitro was underwhelming overall.

Same. Thought regular was probably the best of the three, as much as I wanted the nitro/coffee to take it up a notch. Coffee made me alternate between wondering whether was BW w coffee or the reverse. Kind of a mess, but certainly interesting especially on nitro.

One who flew over cuckoos nest also not the best taproom movie.

Did they play the sound earlier in the night? They were playing the movie at 830 without sound and it was just like any other night at the taproom. Seemed silly.

First time having Clare's. I love it. Like fresh Backyard. Smells & tastes like chocolate dipped raspberries. The Woodford 17.5 month was also delicious. Rich and nice bourbon character. Can't beat a 32 oz growler for $13.50. All 5 indignant variants are still on and all at that growler price.

Netflix & Chill was tasty at the GIFulton taproom. Lots of red wine tannins and boozy grape notes. It is in fact BCBS body aged in Pinot Noir barrels. My wife loved the new Apricot Honey saison. It was a bit yeasty and one more for me but I prefer a drier saison.

Solid Saturday so far. Finally getting to Piece later too.
