Any Haymarket reports?
Not too crowded. IMO, Clare's was way too sweet and fruit forward this year vs. year's past but for $10, I still got a growler. The 22 month Indignant was very tasty.
Coffee Straight Jacket at the Taproom on Thursday though![]()
do you drink coffee?
i don't.. all the Coffees i've had that were "old" still tasted of coffee. might be a sensitivity thing?
I'm sipping on my daily 20oz travel mug of snooty pourover coffee that I made half an hour ago with recently-roasted, single-origin, fair-trade, insert-a-few-more-coffee-snob-terms-here Bow Truss beans that I ground myself this morning. It's an expensive habit.I do drink coffee. Less than a cup per day.
Honestly, I have no clue if that's enough to affect my sensitivity. You might be onto something there.
So is the consensus that it wouldn't be worth trading for a howler of this batch of Clare's? It's one of my favorite beers in the world and I've seen a few howlers for trade today, but would trust the Talkbeer FIBs' if they said this batch wasn't worth trading for.
I wish I would've grabbed a 2nd one to just send out your way, but I would say it's worth trading for if you can get one at cost ($15ish) as it's still a very similar beer just much sweeter / fruit forward than previous versions.

Thought that the oldest Indignant was the star of what was available at Haymarket yesterday, and while I agree that Clare's was much sweeter / fruit forward that years past, it was still pretty tasty (especially at the back bar where they didn't seem to have any carb issues).
I didnt realize so many people gave a **** about Haymarket![]()

You probably have no way of knowing for sure, but any idea if any of this kicked (especially Claire's)?
Jezebel was alright...aroma was awesome but didn't care for the taste. I'm not a fan of regular ass Matilda though. Sofie all day for me.Anybody try either of these beers yet from GI Fulton taproom?
JEZEBEL | Belgian Pale Ale| 10.9% | Chalice
Bourbon Barrel-Aged Matilda with blackberries added
NETFLIX AND CHILL | Imperial Stout | 12.7% | Snifter
Aged in wine barrels, big and bold with hints of stonefruit and raisins.
We'll be in the city Saturday and was thinking it might be worth a quick pop-in.
Netflix & Chill == Onsieme-Heure or no??

Actually, "Netflix and Chill" is the exact translation of Onsieme Heure.if its that beer renamed, why did they let my 19 year old cousin choose the name?
Can folks report back on the coffee SJ / whether it's worth the trip to Kedzie.
Can't recall having many coffee BA barleywines, if any. People seemed to go nuts over the version Alpine did with Great.
