Trying to start my first batch of cider.
2 gallons home pressed minjohn apple juice
3crushed Camden tablets 24 hours
Added 1pound brown sugar
1tsp pectin enzyme
2tsp yeast nutrient
1 pkt lalvin D47 ,hydrated
Original gravity 1.090
24 hours at 70degrees and I am seeing no sign of fermentation, should I be worried?

I did a 1 gal batch of cider from store brand apple juice(first attempt). I did not see any activity, but I left it alone for 2 weeks. When I check my gravity before I bottle,it was at 1.002.

Mine always starts within 12hrs...and I never rehydrate. Do note though optimal ferment temp range for D47 is 59-68F.....per the datasheet. I always shoot for 63-65F.

Cheers & Good luck [emoji111]

There's a lot to consider, how much head space do you have, is your carboy guaranteed to be 100% sealed., age of year. The only sure way to know is SG reading every few days.
