What the h3ll is up with all of these floccing threads bashing styles that they don't like and calling it a craze? Instead of flooding the forum with thousands of threads for every style out there, I say we condense it into one thread. Here can you bash whatever style you just absolutely can't stand that EVERYONE else just clamors over at the moment...

What's the deal with this Okra Mead craze! I swear I can't walk into a bar without everything on tap being okra mead! Fuqqing hipster scum!

And you can't even throw a rock in a bottle shop without dumping gallons of glass-shard-filled okra mead all over the floor! And then all of a sudden you're "going to have to pay for that, sir" and "banned for life". Like I want to come back to your stupid hipster okramead shop anyway! I was trying to do y'all a favor!

What happened to the good ol' days when everything was maple bacon donut flavored?

Due to budgeting constraints and excellent negotiating it's a VW.

stouts. everyone's on about "Stout Season 365!". and do you know why? because some bald headed, tattooed, toothless floccer proclaimed that every season is stout season. why would that jerk hole say such a thing? because he's floccin' right! he's a martha floccin' genius, son! there's nothing wrong with a stout any time of the year! flocc yeah! all the stout haters shall be beaten with 55 lbs. sack of roasted malt! STOUT SEASON 365, SUCKADUCK!

Why reply to a thread like this. Just go out and hit your head with brick a few times, or as many as it takes to forget.

I don't have any bricks, only rocks. What should I do??

Oh, I want that!!!!!!!!

I want to go on a road trip in that.

I want to stop at every brewery and get IPA or IIPA and sleep in the back. Who's with me? @Melana for sure. Let's do it! :rockin:

Road Trip with Yooper and Melana!

Sign me up. I'm always up for a trip.

Oh, by the way, in keeping with the spirit of the thread-

I just can't get into sours. I tried, and I can't. I can appreciate a brett beer, and some complex vinous sours (but very very few), but not the typical "sours" that all the cool kids talk about.

Same here. I like Bretted beers or styles like Oud Bruin where the sourness is just one component balanced by other flavors, but these hardcore sours with a pH of about 1 that just blows everything else away...I don't see the complexity.

Then again, I felt similar about IPAs once upon a time, so maybe someday.

From what I understand, in order to start enjoying the hardcore IPAs, you have to develop hop-blindness (aka destroy the parts in your tongue that perceive bitterness). I believe the same is true with very spicy peppers. I really like sours, but I've always loved the hardcore sour candy since I was a kid.

So is the trick to enjoying all of the "best" things in life just to destroy your palate?

Umm... You do know what goes on in vans like that, don't you? A friend who grew up during the 60's told me all about it.

I've been exploring Belgian ales lately & last week I got one that had some pretty strong bubblegum flavor, got to admit, I'm not a fan of bubblegum flavored beer.
Regards, GF.
