I read a lot here about using xylitol to backsweeten cider. But has anyone tried erythritol? I've read elsewhere that erythritol doesn't cause gas or digestive problems like xylitol sometimes can.

It's another sugar substitute. Looks like no one here has used it.

Curious if anyone using it these days? (I've started using for baking in place of white sugar as I'm keto friendly...)

Gonna give it a whirl in some of my ciders [emoji111]

I've not been able to find it? Wal-Mart,Kroger, have all kinds of sweeteners but not xylitol.

I was referring to the topic sweetener - erythritol. Got mine from Amazon.

Add some nitro groups to the erythritol and it becomes really interesting.

just as an FYI... testing adding Erythritol to some of my ciders

test batch in 1/2gal container

SG = 1.004 (post fermentation)

Added 4T Erythritol and SG went to 1.022 (which is more in the range I prefer my ciders)

Did ya taste any yet? Let us know how it turns out.

Shot in a time/space continuum - please explain "4T" = 4 teaspoons / tablespoons / teacups /... ???
I suppose it's not 4 tons

Thanks!
