So I have pretty much jumped into this hobby and in theist two months I'm about $2800 deep :rockin: I have brewed a few batches and am still developing my methods and technical ability. I would like to move away from my gas stove top brewing to electric. I live in Portland Oregon where it rains all the time so outside brewing is pretty much out of the question. I have a garage where I can brew and it has plenty of 120v and a 240v hook up. So I think an electric setup would fit my needs best. This is where I am completely lost. I am not afraid to spend what is needed to get going, however let's keep it semi realistic maybe $1000-$1500 budget?

What would you do?

Ps. I am pretty handy so I am not afraid to build anything.

I went with a hosehead controller and BruGear kettle and so far I'm very happy with them.

Looks like I want to set up some type of BIAB 5gal electric kettle setup. So now my search begins!

Do you have any experience with wiring? If you're down to build it yourself you could have an awesome, full featured rig in that budget. Do not attempt this if you aren't sure of what you're doing however, 100+ volts is one of those be totally correct or don't attempt kind of projects. The electric brewing forum here has so many awesome set ups however.

I am 100% comfortable with wiring. I was looking at the Higher Gravity system and that actually looked promising. It appears that circulating may be unnecessary so thats where my research has left off at.
