Hey Everyone,
I have an idea to batch prime my cider in my fermentation bucket leave it for a few weeks to carbonate in the bucket. Then when I am ready to bottle, sweeten the carbonated batch, bottle and pasturize all in one go. What do you guys think about this? Will racking a carbonated batch eliminate the carbonation?

Your larger issue is that a bucket wouldn't hold the pressure required to carbonate the beverage over atmospheric pressure.

Ohhh that would make sense, because the gas would be released. Guess it would be better to carbonate with a fermentable and sweeten with a non-fermentable. Thanks for this you saved me a few weeks of failure lol.

ATM I am having a couple of bottles with active MLF. I.e. if you rack and bottle early you can have natural carbonation in your bottle without having to add sugar.
