Hey all,

What is a suitable dry yeast substitute for Danstar Windsor in a British ale? Coopers 15g appears to look similar on paper (more so than say US-04)? Anyone ever use them both and care to comment?

Thanks,

TF

i dont know about coopers but i used windsor as a substitution for US-04 in my english IPA and its not bad but i definitively prefere US-04, windsor beer is just "muddy" kind of thing i dont know how to describe it better, when us-04 gives me cleaner beer but in the same brings up malt flavor nicely

Windsor is a low attenuating yeast. Works well in a low gravity beer to leave plenty of body. I suspect you would be better off using S-04 or Notty, but of which attenuate better than Windsor.
