As far as trub I'm assuming you're talking about reducing the amount you end up racking into the fermenter?
For that there are several methods and it depends on how you transfer. Some filter through a sanitized paint bag. I've heard of some people wrapping the same type of material around the bottom of their siphon to keep from sucking it up. My auto siphon has a cap on the bottom that sits in the trub and assuming the trub layer isn't too thick it sucks from above the trub. I also start with the siphon away from the bottom and slowly lower it as I tilt my kettle to avoid as much as possible.
But even if some gets transferred it will settle out in the fermenter.
