Stopped by willibrew today, hoping to get a growler fill. Tried the sampler to see what was worthy and tried Certified Gold, Postal Patron Pub, What's Hoppening, Spam Mail, and First Class Festival Ale. All were Ok, but the Festival was real tasty, a 8.4% iipa. Inquired how much for a 64oz growler and was told $24.99. And that's without buying glass. Holy ****!!!! What an insane price. You can get Haze or IST for significantly less. Just blown away by the price. First time ever I left a brewery carryin an empty growler.

Thought I would start a thread to identify locations that have SoS or Super Session on draft... Hoping to find some in the Greater Hartford area tonight or this weekend. Thanks for your assistance.

Anyone looking at attending the 2 Roads Igor variants release?

Most likely won't find SoS. Maaayyybe Eli Cannons or McLaddens.

Super Session is on draft at a few spots.

I advise checking out beermenus.com for info such as this.

Thanks, found Super Session at McLadden's. Beermenus.com is very helpful. Thanks again.

You can also use Untappd to see what locations people are checking into it at. Not always accurate, since there are always people checking into a beer they had days ago, but it can be pretty useful.

Looks like Half Full is releasing two barrel aged beers tomorrow.

You have to spend $30 on an event on a Wednesday night for 4 other beers for the opportunity to purchase bottles?

To be fair to them the taps are always open too, so if you were inclined you could go though a lot more than 4 of their "rare" beers. Plus this time you get a "Whiskey laced Toasted Amber 22oz bomber" included at this event since the Scotch ale barrel went bad apparently and food from Coalhouse Pizza. It's usually beer and light snacks so this one is a better deal than normal.

I usually end up going to a few each year since a few of my wife's friends go pretty regularly. Beer is whatever (generally improving, but still needs some work) and it's a bit expensive for sure, but the people who show up are great and it's a fun time.

I wasn't really questioning the value proposition I'm just generally not a fan of having to buy a ticket to an event (that doesn't even include being able to try the beer being released) just for the opportunity to buy a bottle. Also, a random Wednesday night at 7pm is kind of an odd time to have a release when that's the only opportunity to get it. Either way it's not really a big deal to me as I wasn't planning on trying to get any, I just hope buying a ticket to an event doesn't become a more popular trend for all brewery's releases.

Based on the limited samplings I've had of their beers, I couldn't imagine anything they make being worth the time OR money ...

Does anyone know the exact date Troegs stuff is going to start hitting the state? I forgot the exact date, but I know it was February something.

Does anyone have a line on any of that saison from lawson's in the New Haven-ish area? Is that even in our area yet?

I wasn't aware of a Lawson's saison. Are you talking about Super Session 2? I think it showed up at a few places in the area around the Lawson's launch. It was also on at Rudy's last weekend but I think it may have been an older keg since I wasn't aware of there being more than one run of that beer yet and it tasted kind of malty to me (though in fairness I had a pour from an old keg of Supernaut they had before that).

1/23 Sip cans went out Monday too.
