The SS2 I had was worlds apart from the VT Bombers which I very much enjoyed. Malty, not cloudy or turbid, way less Amarillo character. Don't think scaling from the Sugarhouse to Two Roads did that beer any favors.

Even the SoS drafts I have had have been quite unlike the canned version, which I find the most appealing format (vs ct kegs, vt kegs, and bombers).
Perhaps something to do with how much of that tasty hop-oil laden yeast makes it's way into your glass- if it all settled/cold crashed out in that keg, the pours could be very different from a can or bottle.

I wasn't aware of a Lawson's saison. Are you talking about Super Session 2? I think it showed up at a few places in the area around the Lawson's launch. It was also on at Rudy's last weekend but I think it may have been an older keg since I wasn't aware of there being more than one run of that beer yet and it tasted kind of malty to me (though in fairness I had a pour from an old keg of Supernaut they had before that).

1/23 Sip cans went out Monday too.

Yup, thats what I meant to say. I saw this latest batch of SoS today at a couple places, but they were pricing them between $18-$21 per 4 pack, so **** that.

From the other site - Craft Beer Guild has picked up Alpine which will be coming to CT on a limited draft only basis.

You need to call out that store so the rest of us can avoid them.

Trolley Square in 'Staven (Stop and Shop plaza), was selling SOS at gouge prices, also the last round of Gandhi that went out last week was gouge city everywhere i saw it

Nugget Nectar while not as good as Gandhi or SoS will likely go up in price too once the CT gouge union realizes it sells well.

I don't subscribe to the secrecy concept, as others help me find the beer. So I believe in paying it forward and letting people know which stores are fair with consumers so they can support those stores.
I get that... was mostly saying it in jest. As of right now Harvest Country is one of the only locations in west Hartford where the cans last more than an hour. Their sister store will sell out of SoS in 30 minutes, Max Bev requires you to be a regular, Parkview only sells singles, Whole Foods has yet to see a shipment.... Was just hoping word wouldn't get out too quickly on it. But in the end, good folks run that place, so the publicity for them is cool.

They are good people. I appreciate those that make the product available, price it fairly and provide for a reasonable limit (eg One 4-pack) so that it is available to those that make the effort to get there quickly, buy it, and then continue to support their store. I wonder if Wise Old Dog is getting anything? I haven't seen any Ghandi Bot in ages in cans, it must all be stored behind the counter at places.

The Wise Old Dog def gets the SoS, but they seem to be on a different delivery schedule... I have inquired about certain beers based on when they hit Harvest or Manchester Wine and they don't always get it the same day. Really don't follow how the distribution works. Figured all stores would get the **** the same day.

Can't help you on Gbot. It shows up so infrequently and disappears so fast, that I have really stopped seeking it out. I just enjoy it on tap when it's on in West Hartford center. But most places do keep it in back, so you would have to ask for it.

I had G-Bot recently at McLaddens on draft and honestly wasn't that impressed, but was hoping to grab some cans at some point just to give them a try again but I am not going to hunt them down. IMHO, still isn't anything as good as a freshly canned Heady Topper. Sometimes all the hype gets annoying, but you have to hand it to the beer makers that if they are making good beer and people want to buy it and go crazy searching for it, good for the brewers.

Both hag and bot have had consistency issues. Bot has been just ok and it has been really ******* good. Hag is typically nice and murky and dank, but sometimes it's clear and tastes less hoppy. Below is hag on tap at mcladdens, it's as clear as water

i exclusively drink Bot and Hag from growlers or cans, and haven't noticed any consistency issues.

It's possible that either 1) they had the wrong keg on the "Sea Hag" tap, I've seen that happen before with other beers or 2) that keg was sitting in there for awhile and what amounts of an extended lagering basically cleared up the beer and the sinking yeast particles dragged those delicious hop particles down with it.

Or it could just be an inconsistency. I personally have never had any inconsistencies other than them changing the recipes here and there. Also, 668 was significantly more "belgian-ey" the last time I had it.

I wouldn't doubt that it could be a bar issue, but I recently had a 6-er of Sea Hag that was also clear. Don't get me wrong, they're the best brewer in CT, but Sea Hag and Gbot have had its ups and downs. The good part is that the downs are still pretty darn good beers.

Looks like Worker's Stomp is out. Are bottles going to distro?

I saw a bottle of this on the shelf earlier today and was curious...had no idea this was coming out. Didn`t buy the 750mL, but if I hear positive reviews, might try to catch it on draft somewhere.

My understanding is that Nebco is now using Biofine (clarifying agent) for Bot and Hag. I am on my second log of Hag since December and both have been clear. Still tastes excellent but I am disappointed; my preference is unfiltered.

This is also my understanding. I am also disappointed, but I'm sure there's a good reason for it/Matt prefers it this way, and I'm not going to argue with Matt's brewing preferences. They've worked pretty well in the past.

Damn, last few batches of Hag for me have been cloudy where as I haven't seen a hazy Bot in a long time. No more hazy Hag?? :(
