OEC put up their list of beers today. I'm assuming this is what they're going to have when they open next month.
Tempus Blend #1 - sour saison
Phantasma - Baltic Porter
Phantasma Sour Blend #1 - Sour edition of Phantasma
Phantasma Sweet
Exilis - Berliner Weisse
Aeris - Altbier
Jesus, the name of that brewery + the names of those beers + the styles of those beers ******* screams pretentious ********.
That said, I do look forward to trying some of their beers.
Liquor Depot on Rt 44 on the Avon/Simsbury/Canton line is usually a decent place to stop. Others can probably add more places.I will be in Simsbury at the end the month, any good shops in the area? Any good breweries nearby? Unfortunately won't be able to venture too far away from Simsbury (maybe 1hr radius?).

For breweries: NEBCO down by New Haven, Treehouse up in Mass are both within an hour's drive. Some newer places are closer, but those are the two best in the area.
Jesus man, you bitch about everything. Whether it be the lines at NEBCO to get world-class beers, or this new brewery which most likely will be great and has some awesome styles to launch with. At least I'm consistent with just having 2 Roads hate.
teh ironiez.
Liquor Depot was really the low hanging fruit there. West Hartford has Worldwide and Crazy Bruce's. also M&R in Avon. I don't live up there anymore, so I don't really know the under the radar shops. I think there are some Avon/Simsbury/West Hartford residents on here, who might be more helpful. Thanks, I hit up Liquor Depot last time I was there and thought the selection seemed good. I have definitely been eyeing NEBCO and Treehouse. For those that have been to treehouse, how many beers do they typically have on tap? From their website it looks like they only have two on right now but elsewhere on the website it says they usually keep 4. The reason I ask is that my dad's beer tastes are not as broad as mine so I don't want to make the trek out to treehouse if they don't have a beer he would like.
Driving down to Hartford early Friday... Gold Stock still on? I miss that beer. This batch of Coriolis is really good.
Gold Stock is still way, way better

NEBCO is a great brewery, probably my absolute favorite of all time, but their growler filling system is really ******* ****** and I hate waiting in line there.

Treehouse usually has 3-4 things on tap, from what I've seen. They always update their website to show what will be on tap that week.
There are plenty of breweries closer to Simsbury than NEBCO/Treehouse. Bloomfield has Back East and Hooker (Back East makes Misty Mountain IPA to go w your "location"). Broad Brook is in up in East Windsor. Cambridge House is a brewpub in Granby. I've heard good things about Firefly in Bristol (good atmosphere to hang out and have beers, usually have a food truck I think). Relic in Plainville probably won't meet your Dad's beer tastes, but if you're out that way, you can get some wings at J Timothy's... Hnnnnggggg.
Thanks. Looking at the Relic and J Timothy's combo sounds good but why is every brewery (Treehouse, NEBCO, Relic...?) closed on Sunday? If I remember correctly last time I was there two years ago they had just opened up liquor stores on Sunday, is the brewery closed on Sunday thing still a relic of that or are they just too small to be open every day?
Relic is relatively new and only recently started opening on Thursdays I think. Treehouse also just added a 3rd day to their hours. NEBCO took Mon, Tue away after they moved, but now stay open an hour later Wed-Fri. I figure the hours are limited by small staffs (needing a day off) and the limited amounts of beer they have avaliable to sell.Thanks. If you can't make it to Treehouse, I could probably snag some growlers for ya when I head up. Let me knowI will be in Simsbury at the end the month, any good shops in the area? Any good breweries nearby? Unfortunately won't be able to venture too far away from Simsbury (maybe 1hr radius?).

No, and no. Sea Hag is fantastic now though. The recipe change REALLY did it well.Is Gandhi-Bot a shelf turd? Cans readily available?
Thanks. Any other "locals" I should be on the lookout for?No, and no. Sea Hag is fantastic now though. The recipe change REALLY did it well.
Anything from NEBCO really. I wouldn't waste my time with anything else.Thanks. Any other "locals" I should be on the lookout for?
That's sad that you can't even make a non-NEBCO recommendation.Anything from NEBCO really. I wouldn't waste my time with anything else.

But if you see, Sea Hag/668/Pilsner in a store, ask if they have any Gandhi Bot. A lot of stores have started keeping it off shelves.
