cloudy and flat?

noobie alert!

I brewed my first two batches of beer and transferred it to kegs yesterday! :rockin:

The first one was a nut brown (Samuel Smith) and the other was a Hefeweizen (German style).. The Nut brown tastes ok but is very cloudy and flat? The Hefe tastes great but is flat? Not sure what I did wrong? After adding c02 to my Nut Brown it looks like its a moka coffee color? The Hefe looks great,tastes great but is a little on the flat side?


Any help would be greatly appreciated! :drunk:
 
How long did they ferment and how did you carbonate them in the keg? Only 1 day in the keg doesn't give you much time to carbonate unless you set your pressure at about 30psi and rocked the heck out of it. I'm guessing you need to let them sit under pressure longer. There are different ways of doing it, I set my kegs at about 12psi for 3 weeks to carb and cold condition.
 
They have been only hooked up to c02 for day. I guess I'm a little too excited about drinking my beer..lol

Yep, at serving PSI it'll take a week or two to carbonate up. Some people rock it up to 30 psi for a day, then degass and set to serving temp. However, it's easy to over carbonate that way.
 
carbonation was the problem! after letting them both sit they cleared up and carbonated just right. thanks for the help everybody!
