Class 2 vs Class3 ball lock kegs

I was looking around and saw this referenced, but nothing to explain the difference between class 2 and class 3.

Can someone please give me the cliff notes version of what the difference is, or link me to a reference that explains it?

I'm not sure if this is universal amung suppliers, but I know Beverage Elements refers to kegs as different classes, and here's a link to how they use the terms.
