Hello homebrew talk world!
Since October is nearly upon us I decided to brew some pumpkin beer but I wanted to make it a little bit more interesting. Right now I have all the ingredients for a pumpkin porter but I also have some chipotle in adobo. My gut tells me this will work but my friends call me mad. I decided to come out of lurking this forum to ask what the community thought of the idea.

Go with it! One of my favorite ways to serve sweet potatoes is with chipotle, the flavors work well together just don't go overboard.

Sounds delightful.

In my opinion, success comes by balancing the chipotle with a good chocolate / roasted coffee-ish character.
I had something similar last fall with a bowl of venison stew/chowder with potatoes and it was incredible.
Sad thing is that I have no knowledge of the beer.
I traded a half box of hunting ammo for it with a friend, who it was gifted to.
The only ID on it was a white label that stated "Pepper Pott's Porter"
"A Blend of the finest chocolate with a fiery backside"

Great beer.......
