F.H. Steinbart.com is having a super deal on a new beer called "Oregon Dank" It is a 5 gallon extract kit they are giving for free if you pay shipping. The guy at the store told me it was an IPA style beer they came up with.

I did the 3 day shipping here to AZ and got the kit for $16!! Everything is locally grown in Oregon.

I can't wait for it to get here just in time for football season.

Note... I couldn't find it on their website I had to google "Oregon super dank" because I saw it on FB.

If you google Oregon Super Dank, you can find the coupon code that does indeed drop the price to zero. I went to check out, but shipping to my house was $30, so it wasn't a good deal to me.

YMMV

I checked the top 20 links and no coupon code in any of them. This thread is already on the list though.

I added "free" to the search and found the coupon code free#dank

Funny that it didn't show up before.

Sounds like a bait and switch...theres no way it cost so much to ship and F.H keeps the difference

I payed $16 to come to AZ. But I do believe the coupon code has reached it's limit. I spoke with the guy at the shop and there were limited amounts.

I didn't received a shipping notification from them, but the kit showed up today.

I didn't pick through the box, but it looks pretty complete, with muslin bags and all, which is always nice.

Yep, It was a nice kit. I got mine and had to call for a tracking number.

Brew day was as easy as I'd expected, but I forgot to add yeast nutrient. That happens a lot. I was really impressed by the Mecca Grade Opal 44 malt. After the steeping I moved them to a bowl on the table and couldn't stop eating them! I put 4 cups of the spent grain in the freezer to add to bread and such. If they were more readily available, I could totally see having them for breakfast regularly.

I fermented at 65F. It took a couple days for any bubbles in the airlock and I was starting to worry but evidently the Mangrove Jack's M44 yeast is a notorious slow starter. By the end of the week, the bubbles had stopped so I turned the temp up to 68F and a couple days later to 70F.

Yesterday was 2 weeks so I took a gravity reading and added 2oz of Cascade for dry hops. SG was 1.016. It tasted a little sweet but still very nice. I bumped the temp up to 72F to see if it will dry out a little. If it doesn't, it will be 4.2% ABV and still a very nice session IPA.

I never did take a FG but it has been kegged up for 3 weeks now and doesn't taste sweet at all. It's an OK IPA, but not what I was hoping for. I think I may have fouled it up by not taking the hops out before chilling because it is more bitter than I prefer and doesn't have the 'freshness' that I look for in an exceptional IPA.
