Yes, I know the "complete problem" you speak of with the younger, energetic cats. Balls of energy with the "zoomies", and the next instant they've vanished, or decided to use you as a human pillow.

I got my two youngsters at 4 months during July, 2021. They stick cold, wet noses in my face while I'm asleep, or roll the noisy track ball at 2 AM out of boredom. One of the more unnerving experiences these two cats have caused me is also sleep-related. I'll find small objects have been re-arranged by furry burglars in the night - like thread spools, or missing sweet potatoes that "went for a midnight walk", or my wife's costume jewelry.
Imagine being half awake, still in a dream state, thinking you're paralyzed ... then find one cat sprawled on your knees and the second one piled on your feet. It's bothersome, especially when you really need to go pee, but something you'll deal with living with these naughty creatures.
On the flip side, though my black male Festus has already proven his skill as a mouser by getting two this year. His sister seems to be less of a hunter and more of a spectator.

This is our new kitten, Margaret. She’s a complete problem and it only took two days for the boys to accept her. Edgar has been looking for a friend for five years, and I think he found one. I miss Toasty dearly, but she helps a little bit.

My daughter's name is Margaret, and she made us adopt a kitten not too long ago. I think the stars are well aligned for this little lady.

^^ that is why I sleep with the door closed!

I used to do this when my roomie adopted a brother/sister duo of black cats. I had to wake up and roll out by 5:30Am to make it to work. The male cat had a habit of walking across me during the night to peek out my bedroom window. He had the "black magic" ability to manipulate door knobs. If you've ever owned a black cat you'll find they are extremely inquisitive, observant, and smart, very unique creatures even among cats.
One night I actually locked my door and he wasn't quite pleased with that. I could hear him squall in anger and literally bounce off the walls in the hallway. Now that I'm older and don't travel for a living, the furry burglars using me as a 2AM pillow or doormat isn't as bothersome.

I haven’t had a kitten in a long, long time. She’s so innocent and happy.

Margaret gets spayed tomorrow so we put her up in Wally’s suite for the night so the two jackasses can still graze some food and water at night. It’s just heartbreaking shutting her up by herself in a room. I left her with a couple extra toys and can hear her up there batting them around. I should feel worse for Wally since he is the one losing territory

This tiger goes to the cities tomorrow for his spa vacation. He has a hyperactive thyroid and is allergic to the medication, so his only other option is I-131 treatment. he will be radioactive and under quarantine in the tiger clinic for about a week and a half. Plus another week of at home quarantine after that. Healthy as can be otherwise and I can’t wait to see him starting to pack some weight back on. Gonna be a weird ten days without him! Have a good spa vacation, Wallace!

This is my new cat. I believe he's purebred Siamese. His former owner was a breeder of show cats. Due to a "snaggle tooth" he's not show quality. Unfortunately, although he was supposedly very affectionate, he doesn't want anything to do with me.

The tiger has returned from his spa. It a weird ten days without him, but we picked him up this morning. He’s upstairs in quarantine until next Friday, and we move next Saturday. It’s super tough leaving him all alone and listening to him, but he has far more luxury items than he actually *needs*. He will be appalled that I’m posting these pictures of him, but I’m struggling to get a decent shot of him.
Welcome home, Wally!

There's no greater luxury for a cat than boxes! Welcome home Wally.

There's no greater luxury for a cat than boxes! Welcome home Wally.
He has a pretty sweet apartment up there. We are in the midst of moving the next two weekends, so we had an extra bedroom ready for him. He has a cat tree, a very high dresser with a bed that lines up with the best sunlight, his favorite carrier with a blanket over it, about five different boxes of assorted sizes, and an assortment of things to bat around the floor. And best of all, he doesn't get harassed by the other two cats.
I love that fkn tiger.

I love cats so much, I wanted one of mine too. But I'm afraid sometimes due to my work I have to travel for weeks and I live alone right now! There is no one to take if I have one, it's make me so sad😢

It’s been awhile, so, cats.
Happy to say that Wally is doing awesome after his thyroid radiation shot situation.

Edgar/Egger isn’t super fond of the kittens but he’s adjusting.

Margaret needed a friend.

And Zelda is definitely growing up. She’s turning into a terror for hopefully the short term.

Erin, the mighty hunter. Snakes, birds, lizards, moths, toads and mice. And yes, she brings them all into the house.

More cat updates since I’m bored and been a little afk lately.
Wallace looking really bright and orange. Happy tiger. (Can also admire my HB Oktoberfest in the background)

Margaret and Zelda trying to talk me out of going to work in the morning. Margie sits on the bannister and stares at me. On the real urgent days, she loafs on top of my keys. Zelda can’t jump that high yet.

And this is everyone watching the chipmunk channel on cat tv. Well, except the tiger. He’s a senior tiger and had seen enough chipmunks to not care anymore

In response to the "Dogs" thread... I bet there are lots of homebrewers out there that own cats and love them just as much as dog owners love their dogs.

So let's see your feline friends!

Here is my brewing supervisor Leo on a recent brew day:

Here's a couple of updated photo's of my two girls. The little one, Mika, is almost 12, an Egyptian Mau. Snow is an F2 Savannah, 1.5 yrs old and still growing. I've had her for a little over a year now, and she is still very much a precocious kitten. When I came home with Snow, she was exactly the same size as Mika!! Savannah's typically don't stop growing for 2 1/2 to 3 yrs. I think we're in trouble.
