I have brewed a Smoked Robust Porter with the grain bill below (roughly 20% of the bill is smoked malt). I want to do it again but want more smoke flavor. Do I just decrease the amount of Pale Ale malt and increase the Smoked Malt and leave the Munich and specialty malt totals alone?

8.5# Pale Ale Malt
1# Munich
3# Beechwood Smoked Malt
1# Crystal 40
1# Crystal 80
.75# Chocolate
.5# Black Patent

yes, the smoked malts are fairly interchangeable fermentables-wise with your PA malt. leave the munich amount alone.

Smoked malt is generic barley malt, just smoked. It may actually be a little lighter than pale malt, which means it would make your beer a little lighter as well. If that is a concern, you may need to adjust your specialty grains to get back to the same SRM.
