...or so I thought. I have this character flaw of not believing what other people say after I've already formed my own opinion or thought on a topic.
And here on HBT, a lot of times people tell newbie brewers not to believe their airlock. What a load, I thought. If you have fermentation, you'll get at least some bubbles. Anyone who says they had a full fermentation without airlock activity clearly had a poorly sealed bucket or poorly sealed airlock or something.
I just had my steam beer cruise from 1.045 down to 1.010 over the course of about 6 days with no...or very very few bubbles. My s-type airlock was slightly out of balance for about 5 days but that was it. And now I have beer.
Anyhow, turns out HBT was right and I was wrong.
