As I was drinking a bitter in the pub the other night, I fell back in love with the beer. I fondly recall the Rogue Brutal Bitter I enjoyed at the brewery this year and decided I would like to make something similar. If any of you have tasted the Brutal Bitter, its like a cross between bitter and IPA. Anyone know of an extract recipe for the brutal, or is this something that should be attempted AG?

As I am a brewing rookie I can offer no knowledge only support. I too have a love for the Brutal Bitter but no way to make it. From Rogues website you can get the malts, hops, and IBU's etc. I am guessing some of the character from this beer comes from the yeast, Pac Man, maybe. Maybe some of the experts can devise an extract recipe for us.
BTW, do you live near philly?

So I have an old 6 pack carrier of Brutal and this is what we have in it:
100% floor malted Maris Otter,Cara Vienna and Cara Wheat malts
Crystal Hops
Free Range Coastal Water
Top Fermenting Pacman yeast

Thats the ingredients

15 plato
59 IBU
76 AA (not sure what this is)
14.2 L (I think this is loviblond)

Rogue also calls it an Imperial Bitter
Maybe someone will be able to put an extract recipe together for this.
