also, who knows if the "berliner style" bacteria is materially different in 2012 parlance from the current "barnyard bacteria" but the two taste incredibly similar and the abv clocks in really near one another.

the funniest part about this whole thing is the newmoney BA reviews which contrast dipshit groupmind mentality about Bruery beers, the difference in scores between BWXII vs. Beret reviews is hilarious.

It would be like if people were like "HotD BWX was amazing...THIS BEER CALLED MATT IS ******* GARBAGE."
My b bruh, just read the Bruery's website. Silly me

Humulus Lager is the only beer I've fiiled my HS growler with. I miss Humulus. My growler is now essentially a glorified water bottle.
mine as well.

I once tried to get a Melange 10 fill just for lulz at a Memorial Day event, they said they were running low on M10 and instead offered to fill it with Blueberry Smoking wood i think.

no lulz were obtained.

Here's a hilarious example of what I am talking about, by my estimation and from other people present, Bottleworks XII and Beret are almost the exact same ******* beer.

Check out these two different reviews from noted reviewer UclabrewN84 spaced apart by three years:

BWXII:

4.27/5 rDev -1.4%
look: 3.5 | smell: 4 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4 | overall: 4.5

Bottle pour at Woodshop 7 held at Beachwood BBQ & Brewing in Long Beach, CA.

Pours a murky brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to dots of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace also form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, spice, wood, and some wine aromas. Taste is much the same but is pretty sour and funky as well. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a great beer with a solid aroma and really nice set of flavors that make it easy to drink.

Beret:

3.58/5 rDev -13.5%
look: 3.75 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5

Bottle pour at the LA Beer Week Kickoff Festival held at Exposition Park in Los Angeles, CA.

Pours a murky orange with a foamy bone head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is sour with grain, fruit, funk, and acidic aromas. Taste is much the same with sour grain, fruit, and earth flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty, but the smell on this one is slightly better to me.

Serving type: bottle.

"Overall, this is a beer that I have consumed and is now reviewed by me."

Big news! Your wishes have been answered:
1. Humulus Lager is Back. After a short hiatus, we're finally welcoming Humulus Lager back to our regular lineup. This extremely aromatic, hoppy lager flaunts some serious citrus, pine and herbal hop notes. The result is one of the hoppiest beers we produce. In addition to pints and flights, it's also available for growler fills.

Still my favorite tasting room story there EVER.

Me: I didn't see Humulus on the Board, doesn't happen to be on does it?
Tender: Unfortunately Humulus hasn't been on for quite a while and we're not sure when it'll be back.
Me: Ok, hold on lemme check the board again.
Tender: If you're looking for something nice and hoppy, there's always Loakal Red and Old Richland.
Me: o_O

I got a better one, I think I already told this old gem:

"Me: hmm I just want Humulus.
Bartender: hasn't been on for months
Me: ok what is the hs32 fill?
Bartender: mélange 10
Me: it's for a Memorial Day party I don't know if people can handle that I'll think about it
/return 10 mins later
Me: alright let's do melange 10 then
Bartender: sorry we don't have enough, the only hs32 fill we are doing right now is blueberry smoking wood"

If I held out the hs32
fill could have become Gunga Galunga

#patience

It's not as bad as it sounds...unfortunately that's about the nicest thing I can say about it.
The Mole/Coffee/Blueberry Smoking Wood variants were actually interesting if you like Smoking Wood to begin with, but making them an HS32 fill is pretty insulting.

Haven't they been on tap for like a year or so too? Seems like they are dumping them on Hoarders. They should have done what they normally do - bottle it and give it to Prezzies.

i hate pretty much every smoking wood variant but, the coffee was shockingly delicious, like very tasty

largely due to the fact that the coffee basically turned it into not smoking wood and eliminted all rauch aspects

Anyone crack C12? How is it? I did not buy C6 but loved it on tap. '15 SP as good as ever?
