Mélange #1
11.5% abv
$24.99 - $19.99
Purchase Limit: 6 bottles
Bottles will also be available at our Tasting Room

Mélange #1 was the first in our line of barrel aged beer blends and continues to be one of our favorites. A curious blend of our bourbon barrel aged stout, Black Tuesday, along with our Flemish-style sour red ale, Oude Tart, this beer is unique and delightful. Forging flavors of toasty oak, vanilla and toffee along with notes of leather and dark fruit, both the full bodied essence of the bourbon barrel aged ale and the sour quality of our wild ale are present in this well rounded beer.

Bourbon Barrel Aged 6 Geese-A-Laying®

12.9% abv
$24.99 - $19.99
Purchase Limit: 4 bottles
+ 2 bottles included in your membership
Reserve Society Exclusive

6 Geese-A-Laying is the 6th beer in our "12 Days of Christmas" series and is a return to the more classic dark and toasty winter ale, following the appropriately blonde 5 Golden Rings. Brewed with cape gooseberries, this malty ale displays notes of plums, dark cherry and bright, citrus-like flavors from the namesake berries. The bourbon barrel aged variation showcases oaky vanillin and caramel-like sweetness from a year aged in previously-used barrels.

Mélange #3
16.9% abv
$29.99 - $23.99
Purchase Limit: 6 bottles
Bottles will also be available at our Tasting Room

Mélange #3 is a blend of three bourbon barrel aged strong ales. White Oak Sap, a wheat wine, our Anniversary Series old ale and our imperial Stout, Black Tuesday, join forces in this luxurious strong ale that links some of the best characteristics of each of the contributing beers. Chocolate, dark fruits, oaky vanilla and rich toffee-like character reach through the bourbon veneer for an intensely satisfying quaff.

Blue BBLs
15.9% abv
$24.99 - $19.99
Purchase Limit: 6 bottles
Hoarders Society Exclusive

In brewing, BBL is the notation for "barrel," a unit of measurement equal to 31 gallons. This is not to be confused with an oak barrel, which typically holds nearly two BBLs of beer. Still with us? Great.
A special blend of our bourbon barrel aged imperial stout with our bourbon barrel aged sour stout, plus an addition of juicy blueberries, Blue BBLs finishes with incredibly vinous tones. The acidity from the sour stout matches perfectly with the sweet malt character of the imperial stout and the fruity tannins from the berries round everything together. Notes of red wine, blueberry skins, toffee and roasted oak. A fine edition to the line up of Hoarders Society exclusive ales.

So, do you think we're just never going to get ****? It's funny that one of the beers I was legitimately excited about this year is the amazing disappearing allocation. One more reason to be happy I got out, I guess.

I'm guessing that the bottles of non-adjunct filled product is just so thin and mediocre that they can't even salvage it. No wonder they've been pushing hard to throw flavors in there and sell it through draft with all the various treatments they done to it.

Cherry and Vanilla just tasted so boring. I can't even imagine how it would taste without those flavorings in it.

Before they took the dates off of the projected release page, **** was showing as a December release. It had been moved around before then (for unknown reasons, but infection wouldn't be a stretch) but it could still show up next month. The fact that draft variants showed up way before the release is really bizarre. If they have another infection with this, it would almost seem like the death knell of barrel aging any clean beers other than Anniversary and BT. I'm still hoping it will show up in December - and be good - but the lack of communication is frustrating.

An 11.3% stout shouldn't be that thin should it?

lol the whining about how much bruery sucks and lol 18% abv syrup. if you don't like "18% abv syrup" that generally kicks the **** out of most bcbs variants, you signed up for the wrong club.

also i was just at rare barrel and mind ******* blown. map of the sun is the best apricot beer i've had this side of fou'foune

and ugh do i rly want 6 sour stouts

If you wanna trade Fou for Map of the Sun I'm just a BM away. Alternatively I'm sure I'll have plenty extra so you can just BM me anyways and well figure something out involving whatever locals. Should release soon.

I'm a fan of sour stouts and I imagine I'd like all of them (well, I know I like M3) but doesn't releasing 3 in one month seem like poor planning? Especially when that's all you're putting out. I'm not counting BBA 6 Geese-a-Laying, because I'm sure that will be ******* gross.

bba 5GR is actually pretty good now

i don't. fou is better. but Map is also every bit as good as West Ashley (which i also don't have to trade) - i'd love some Map - didn't know it was bottled. do you have a bunch of extra TRB stuff? after my trip there (twice in a weekend trip to SF), i am ISO all TRB.

i had tangerang, egregious, unlimited juice, becoming, and map on tap. fkn crazy.

if you have TRB stuff, let's trade things pls.

They haven't bottled Map yet.

I believe it's currently in bottles right now but hasn't released. Should release before years end. I don't have a ton of TRB to trade but I have a bit to trade. I'll BM you in a bit.

M3 isn't a sour stout right? But yeah you've got M1 and BBLS together.

I had BBA 4 Calling Birds last night and it was really good. I bet BBA Geese will be decent too given the base style.

Also, as another incentive for anyone local who isn't getting all 6 BBLS, I'll make you trustee for my upcoming order so there would be more value in shipping.

You pick up an order of beer, I pay you for BBLS, send you a label, you ship, and I'll send you your shipper back with gratuity.

Yeah you're right on M3, I was misremembering it (I guess that tends to happen when you are trying to recall beers from massive all-day bottle shares). I don't know why but I feel like it had at least some degree of tartness. Maybe that's just my mind playing tricks on me, especially drinking it right next to BT and CR.

I haven't liked any of the Christmas series beers in any form (regular or BA). But who knows, weird stuff goes on in barrels sometimes.

How is getting to be your trustee a bonus? If you really want it why not do a proper trade rather than a #gopickitupformebro for a Hoarder's Exclusive? Or are you going to #gopickitupformebro when whatever this year's version of Prop comes out?

In a 4oz taste contest, maybe the edge to the Bruery. But 6-8 bottles of BCBS vs 1 bottle of BT/CR/GM.....

Squawking on Facebook that one of the beers in PS Q4 is the limoncello sour. If so, how the hell does that fit in here?
