I've traded De Garde, Hill Farmstead, Cantillon, Huna, Resurgam and CS for Bernice on multiple occasions. It's really not hard to get trades done for Bernice.

in 2014 they showed that they ******* blow goats with QC and avoidable infections.

Yeah, it sucks when you buy infected beer from the Bruery at absolutely no risk and then they refund you no questions asked.

But seriously, we all know of numerous breweries that make both sour and non-sour beer that have had infection issues. Not many have acted so quickly and favorably to the consumer. Some have even blamed the consumer. I agree that they had too many infection issues this year and I think they'd agree with that statement as well. I'm confident that they have the measures in place that will eliminate (or at least greatly reduce) the risk of infection in the future.

There are a bunch of others including Deschutes. And they fixed the problem 5 years ago which included refunds to the consumer, not some ******** credit thing that expired before any good beer came out.

They did what they should have done, but there were far too many infected beers this year to deserve the pity party. Pasteurize, filter, or take other measures to eliminate the infection. That's what other breweries have done, and it's what the Bruery should have done after the 3rd or 4th accidental infection.

I wouldn't be. They had the measures they needed last year too, and it apparently didn't work. I wouldn't be surprised if they continued to have infection issues indefinitely at this point, because completely cleaning all those microorganisms is basically impossible.

i are confused...

fewer memberships available? or is the hobby still exploding with noobs? I have to admit it's been weird/nice to be a bit more isolated from the crazies that haven't yet made it to this site ;)

That's what I was wondering, too. Is it possible THAT many people from PS made the jump?

  • DeGarde? Maybe the only thing that's close but no shipping and small pick-up windows.

???

You can pick up your de Garde allocations any time for up to 6 months after they are released. There was the minor complication of letting them know in advance with the old tasting room, but now that the tasting room and brewery are in the same building that's not an issue any more.

lolwat? SARA is better by like a million times.

There is, but it's not big and it's kinda a PITA. The only real trade market is international.
It's better but I don't count it since it's impossible to get into.

I thought it was 3 months and quarterly? It's still not as easy as the year+ as you get with The Bruery.

Every year to this point they expanded by several hundred memberships. This year there was no expansion just replacing members that dropped or moved up to Hoarders.

HS member here and I'm looking to see if anyone had a spare ticket for tonight's session at 730! BM me if you have one available! Cheers!

I'm a reserve member and when I was looking ahead at this week I thought there was no way in hell I'd be able to make any of the BT release times. Well, the week is light and I could make today's.

No one has any extra tickets, right?

Fewer Members AND the hobby is still exploding with passionate craft beer lovers (Up to 6 whole percent of the beer drinking public!)

I want to like Almanac more, but they are on the same level of Rare Barrel of having good, not great sours. Not enough damn fruit in them either. I've loved a few (Valley in particular).

Russian River is obviously great, but pricey. Also, Supplication/Cons/Temp are going to always be Supp/Cons/Temp. Getting Beat once every 2 years is great and all, but I need more in my life, bro.

I totally agree with Almanac but I have found The Rare Barrel to make pretty exceptional sours. I think they drink very clean and easy, not too acidid or too sour. Im a Founders member but being in NY, I've never had their draft options only the founders bottles and I haven't had them all yet, just a handful. I have been very impressed with how balanced they are.

I see that as a detriment in their case. I don't want something blisteringly sour or unbalanced, but their beers are too clean and linear. If I'm spending $30 for a sour, I want an interesting beer with some complexity to it. For a clean sour, I can grab bottled Berliners for a hell of a lot cheaper than TRB, and with less hassle. I don't think they make bad beers by any means and I'll revisit them in the future, but nothing I've tried yet has really risen above "good" for me.

Any one here happen to have gotten an extra BT glass that would be willing to help me? I got plenty to trade for it ie beer, glassware, ZJ's.

You should send your growler back to your trustee :p

They are selling Black Tuesday glasses at the tasting room. Can anyone #gopickupformebro?
