Barrel Aged Beer Day is this Friday and we're celebrating it with a one-of-a-kind first Friday firkin. We aged a very special variation of 2014 Black Tuesday in a 5 gallon oak barrel which previously housed an employee batch of hot sauce. The result is an amazing blend of sweet, spice and barrel character. Be careful, this is a complicated and eccentric brew that you might just fall in love with

They really missed an opportunity here. Could have blended So Happens It's Tuesday to make a firkin of big Flaming Hot S.H.I.T

Roble Blanco seems to be mystery beer #1 a sour ale aged in tequila barrels.

For most of you, Black Tuesday needs no introduction. This beer is our take on a bourbon barrel aged imperial stout. Varying slightly from year to year, the ABV for 2014 clocks in at 19.7%, yet drinks surprisingly smoothly. Rich caramel, toasted malt, vanilla, burnt wood and anise are just a few of the many flavors in this rich, decadent imperial stout. Perfect for sharing!

Living in Southern California, we're huge fans of both Mexican cuisine and, of course, Mexican cocktails. This is a tribute to our favorite blended fiesta beverage, the Margarita. We aged this wheat-based beer in Tequila barrels for an extended period of time, lending warmth and a roasted agave character. Coupled with a slight lime tartness and a classic, salty finish, this brew is a great approximation of the refreshing summer afternoon Margarita.

This variation of Black Tuesday was aged in previously used rum barrels for an extended period of time. Still rich in notes of caramel, toasted malt, vanilla, burnt wood an anise, this variation has additional fruit and spice notes from the rum barrels.

A) How are they going to call 19.7% "drinkable"
B) That Roble Blanco sounds tasty! I'm a sucker for tequila
C) For me Oct was a good showing for the Bruery, but still not enough for me to sign up again next year.

wow... i am "blown away" for sure.

Dammit. i hope this is good, because it sounds horrible.

There's a chance it could be good (a gose with lime could be good), but I'm pretty skeptical of the description and The Bruery's attempts at beers inspired by other things. Not to mention Lost Abbey's mediocre attempt at it previously.

Wineification II was released to Hoarders also:

In this second rendition of Wineification, the Rues and Parkers continue to vanquish the boundaries between wine and beer. Again they have combined their brains and brawn on a blend of juicy Rodney's Vineyard Petite Sirah grapes with The Bruery's imperial stout, then aged this wine/beer hybrid in French Oak barrels. The flavor profile is remarkable. Notes of black cherry, vanilla, cinnamon, oak, aged balsamic, port wine and a sherry-like oxidation from the barrels. This beer is like nothing that you have ever tried before...besides, perhaps, Wineification I.

I'm going to pile on slightly here. Why in the world is that Roble Blanco 15%? That defies logic. You take what sounds like a mix between a sour/berliner/gose and even aging it in tequila barrels for added depth shouldn't get you to that level. This beer sounds interesting still, but I'd be much more excited if this beer clocked in at half the ABV. I'll buy one to try I'm sure and share it with some poor suckers.

Not for nothing, the last thing I was hoping for was Black Tuesday's ABV going up. I suppose I'll still have to stock up on a few since I'm out on RS after December.

Holy ****, completely glazed over that part. How the hell is a wheat beer 15%?!?!?! Wouldn't that fall more into the wheat wine category?

now that i think about it, it starts to read like 'white oak sap's base beer was infected so threw it in a tequila barrel with some other **** and oh hey mystery beer!'

(this is pure speculation and is not in any way implying that i have any actual factual information about the beer besides the description)

On the Bruery's original release schedule, **** was scheduled to be a December beer, if I recall correctly.
I took the original release schedule early in the year and copied it to a spreadsheet for tracking purchases. I have it listed as a July release. And I remember it being kinda fitting: 6 months away from the BT release, and an "approachable" BA stout for summer.

And they've had it available on tap in the tasting room for at least a month now. The tasting room releases are typically on-par with the bottle sales. Furthermore, they haven't really said anything about it lately. It's been quite a while since I've heard the Bruery even mention ****.
