While I tend to agree, I had the 2014 BT at the treatment tournament and based off my memory of past BT it was the easiest drinking right off the bat. I find it drier and taste more of leather and Tabaco than the usual sweetness of BT. I really enjoyed it.

Since "Roble Blanco" means "White Oak" in Spanish, it'd be pretty damn surprising if the base weren't White Oak Sap.

I took the original release schedule early in the year and copied it to a spreadsheet for tracking purchases. I have it listed as a July release. And I remember it being kinda fitting: 6 months away from the BT release, and an "approachable" BA stout for summer.

And they've had it available on tap in the tasting room for at least a month now. The tasting room releases are typically on-par with the bottle sales. Furthermore, they haven't really said anything about it lately. It's been quite a while since I've heard the Bruery even mention ****.

I thought about crediting Xul for his post on BA, but I changed my mind and decided to use his words as my own.

Looking at cached versions of the release projections (which they've completely given up on updating) on archive.org, The Bruery had it slated for December as far back as June.

Xul, if you read this, a 10th-grader would argue that the statement above isn't plagiarism as I clearly replaced "they" with "The Bruery," so it's now my own original thought.

The mouthfeel and flavor balance of a 15% ABV mixed drink are different from the mouthfeel and flavor balance of a 15% ABV beer. I actually think Or Xata would've been a decent candidate for a stronger base beer, while Roble Blanco seems like it would be better served as a thinner, slightly easier drinking style.

You may very well be right, but I transcribed that spreadsheet in February or March. I have certainly made mistakes before, but I guess we'll just have to see. Thanks for the info though.

**** was supposed to be 11% right? This is 16%, so they would have to blend reg BT with it to get to that % I would think.

It's not ****. Blue BBLs has been slated as a hoarders release since day one.

I'm still hedging bets that **** is infected. Hopefully not, because that's been something I've been looking forward to all year.

It's also not a style that many breweries even attempt. The Bruery was one of the first with Tart of Darkness. People use to go crazy over that beer until it became a regular, annual offering and lost some of its mystique. ToD is most likely one of the base beers for this which is okay by me.

It does. i was pleasantly surprised as it was on draft tonight. Coffee smoking wood was also great. blueberry smoking wood and mole smoking wood were not my thing. Winification II and SitR w/ nectarines also stellar.

I curious where you saw this. The original 2014 HS invite email (aka "very first mention" ) referred to Blue BBLs as a "Sour / Strong Ale Blend with Blueberries". No mention of stout, let alone specifics that it was a blend of BT and ToD.

I remember there was some discrepancy with the announcement where they amended it a couple days later and some of the descriptions words were changed (and they got rid of the hoodie), but the very first mention of someone posting a list is on page 16 of the Hoarders thread on the site "Bee Eh" and (I was slightly mistaken) it lists it as a Tart of Darkness / Black Tuesday Blend w/Blueberries instead of a Black Tuesday / Tart of Darkness Blend w/Blueberries [You actually quote that post with it listed as ToD/BT blend on page 18 ]

Then PMR posts:
