I bottled my Schwarzbier last night at about 1.019... is this a higher risk for bottle grenades?
I started fermenting on 14 August when the sample read 1.046 at 80°F, so OG was 1.048. When I racked to secondary on 20 August the sample was 1.018 at 57°F.
The extremely yummy sample yesterday was 1.020 at 48°F, so about 1.019... higher than before. I accredit this to a sloppy reading before secondary, but this is still a lot higher than I usually bottle (about 1.012).
I had to bottle before I leave the state for a couple weeks, so am I going to come home to a closet full of exploded bottles?
