I have been playing around with some pale ales that I want to nail down as a "House" pale ale.
6.5 gallons post boil volume
92% 2Row, 2% each of wheat, flaked oats, honey malt, cara20
1.055 gravity
Hops -
60 minute = 1 ounce Warrior
15 minute = 1 ounce
5 minute = 3 ounce
Flameout/Hopstand 30-40 minutes = 4-6 ounces
No Dry Hop (Trying to use the hopstand and eliminate this step for convenience and turning the beer around faster)
Hop Variations I have used with the 15-5-hopstand additions ( I have always used warrior for bittering these):
*All Citra
*1/3 each Citra/Centennial/Cascade at each addition
*1/3 Citra/Cent/Cas at 15 and 5, but then 2 ounces of citra and 1 ounce of Centennial, cascade, comet and ahtanum in the hopstand
yeast = been using conan..... but 1056/001 or other favorite pale ale yeasts would work great too I am sure.
Been really happy with these latest versions. Brewday to Glass is about 12-14 days.
