Anyone have a recipe for Anchor California Lager? I can't seem to locate one, found lots for Anchor Steam, but none for the California Lager. All-grain preferred.

I'm a fan of the California Lager; a tasty, but dead simple beer. I'd be curious to hear how this comes out if anyone gives it a try since I was planning on brewing it later this year. Figured I'd probably use the White Labs Cream Ale yeast since I can't lager. I'm hoping I can fit this in by the end of the summer.

The recipe provided above is not actually a typical Anchor Steam beer clone, but rather a more straightforward lager.

Should be easy to find a proper California Common clone in the recipe section, but two things that really make a cali common are the right yeast (cali common/cali lager yeast), and the use of northern brewer hops.

I've tried the steam beer and I liked it but last night I tried the Anchor Lager (different beer by Anchor) and loved it. I would like to imitate that beer but I just wanna see if it turned out well for anyone else.

I haven't brewed this yet (to be honest I completely forgot about it) But I think I'll be doing it next! Stay tuned...

I brewed that recipe from BYO last year and opted to use WLP 810 - san francisco lager yeast.

Decent results. I had some soapy off flavors. This was one of those "lesson learned" beers.

Curious if anyone has tried this crazy simple recipe? - 2row & cluster smash.

Brewing this tomorrow. Going to be the football season kickoff brew :)
