amoretti in beer?

I have some Amoretti Irish coffee and want to add to my stout. when should I add it? was thinking of about 10 minutes left in the boil.
 
I went to their website, trying to figure out exactly what it is you have because my initial thought was Bailey's Irish Cream. To which my immediate second thought was, oh no!

Do you have one of their flavor extracts?

If it's an extract, I wouldn't add it to the boil. You'll boil off all the flavor and aroma. Save it for post fermentation or bottling. Be careful not to add too much. Add, taste, add, taste, repeat as necessary.

Also, their website has some info which sounds like they advocate for post boil flavor augmentation
 
I would also note to add it post-fermentation. As it will also have some level of sugar that will only be fermented off thus changing the flavor profile of the syrup.
 
It is a Flavor extract, I added it with 10 minutes left in the Mash. It smelled good, we have yet to see if it makes good beer.
 
If your process and ingredients were solid you should have good beer; just not sure a flavor extra will make it through an extended boil. Please post how it turns out.
 
Amoretti has a number of different formats.

Was this an extract, or one of those syrup/concentrate/paste-like tubs? Or a puree?

Different flavors in different formats are obviously going to be different, but I played a lot with a sample pack I got from them, and in general 3 of the ~6oz (off memory here) sample tins of the concentrate syrups was good for 10 gals. I'd either add at flameout or when packaging.

I wasn't wild about the actual extracts. Dosing didn't seem to scale. I think getting the extract evenly dispersed was difficult. So the final product would either be too strong or too weak, and then swing the other way.

Their fruit flavoring purees I never bothered with. Every one tasted and smelled like chemical toilet.
 
The beer has been done and bottled for a while now. Went to Home Brewers night last night and had other brewers try it including people from my brew club. Most said it was a good beer, but I don't think I will use the Amoretti again or any thing other than the real stuff to add flavor to my beers as I normally do. It is drinkable but seems to sweet with an interesting added taste that I don't like.
This was a paste, I know my LHBS sells it in like a syrup.
