A Question For Revvy

Revvy , you stated in another thread that 99.9% of all questions have been answered and to do a search first. I searched for this and I cannot find an answer....
I was brewing last night and got everything ready for, and in the primary...Pitched the yeast and slapped the lid and airlock on.....then I noticed the cat was missing...heard some meowing and splashing and scratching. Looked in the primary and yep ypu guessed it,,,there was the cat soaked to the bone in sweet wort. NOW my question is did I mees up by wringing the cat out into the primary? I mean come on no one wants to waste beer...also will this raise my ABV?

Steve you really f'd up... Everyone knows that a cat needs to drip dry over the wort. This way the fur filters out the the hot and cold break . Next time hang it by its tail till dry.

I would have left the cat in myself. I mean some ipas ARE described as "Catty" afterall.

Now dry petting I guess is ok in my book, if that's what you want it's your beer after all...

However I do frown on this....

At least the damn cat licks itself clean.

I like to roast them at say 250° on the grill with beachwood then steep them, gives a nice nutty rounded taste ...

Steeping is OK, but I prefer to mash them...

I'm thinking about using 3-4 different kinds of cat pee so would it be better to blend them or add them separately at different intervals? How does it work with hop bursting? And lastly, is it better to use the liquid or clumps?

you really should do a 60 min boil on the cat as they are really only good for bittering and Aroma.

Cat pee is really just for color, it imparts only the slightest flavor.

If you do use the "clumped" style of cat pee the clumping material may offer some finning to your finished product.

For Dry hop after you are finished you can, and should, cook it afterwards as it would be a pitty to let it go to waste.

Note that if you mash your cat and it's shedding season you may want to use a couple handfuls of rice hulls to avoid a stuck sparge.

I've had good success with both of those methods, just don't tea-bag the cat. Bad idea.

Huh I will have to give this cat method a try... I always use mine for airation as I haven't bought an O2 tank yet.

I use a carboy, how do I do a cat addition in primary? The one time I tried I ended up with a Red Ale.
