I believe that's spelled correctly. Not available in these parts. Think it may be limited to parts of the East Coast because everyone I've heard mention it was in the 13 colonies.

Edit: I've also received the comment "Wow, you have the opposite taste in wine as you do beer." Translation: you have horrible taste in wine. Probably true.

I do a lot of wine tours with the girls and I get the same thing. All wine is the same as far as my tastes are concerned. The only one I can safely say I enjoy more than the rest is Gewürztraminer.
We get the cans here. Paid way too much for it. Wasn't impressed. Will try it on tap this weekend. But I expect to find better examples while there.
I've heard if you order an Orval in Belgium, they decant it into a glass, slam the bottle on the table and pour a shot of yeast on the side. You can choose how much you want to add. Not sure if this is also done with the other trappist beers or not

I don't love Carlsberg, but it was downright delicious at the brewery taproom in Copenhagen. I was probably thirsty from all the sciencing I did at the museum beforehand.
Did something I never do, not even when I'm actually sick: Called in sick. I just really didn't want to be at work, and I really wanted to be at practice this evening, especially since I'm missing three practices over the weekend.
But I decided to start redoing my helmet yesterday. Removed the paint with nail polish remover. Today I sanded it down again, this took me three hours total. Now it's drying again. Had to sand down some spots from the pain running down, but I think it's going to look way better than before. I might actually end up being proud of this job. Here's a photo of the sand job:

QOTD: I was gonna say saisons, cause I really can't stand them. But the wife loves them, so I would keep them around for her. I like sours, pumpkin beers, etc. I don't like session IPAs (but I disagree that they're pale ales. Pale ales have more body, less bitterness), Double IPAs, or American Macro Lagers. If I had to choose one to get rid of though, it would be Double IPAs. Find most regular IPAs too bitter with not enough late hops shining through, but DIPAs are just too far for me.

dont get all the hate for the various sub styles of IPAs. I agree commerical double IPAs by far and large tend to be crap to my tastes. But it sounds like you guys arent making either of them right for your tastes
Next time don't give your kid a banana split 30 minutes before bed.
*If* any really made it to a petting zoo I'd bet they didn't know the ass-end from the head. That said you're just a crazy Canuck - saisons can be quite tasty.
Sometimes a simple taste is what I crave. Kind of like Sunday breakfast - I don't always want a spinach & goat cheese omelette. Sometimes Dry toast is all I want.
Taking a walk. Pretty out but a bit chilly - and windy still.

You read my mind on QOTD. Went into the newly remodeled BevMo last night the beer organization stinks. I though oh cool all the bombers in one area and all the styles are broken out. What is not cool the styles were Porter/Stout, IPA and Ales (WTF) for all the Craft brews. Then the imports were still by brewer

I would have thought a dry crisp German Pilsner with about 36IBU for sub 1.050 beer and some nice floral hoppy notes from late additions would be right in your wheelhouse.
Bo Pils is a much maltier offering with a higher FG and I guess a bit more floral becasue of the Saaz. I'm not trying to convert you, just puzzled given your expressed preference for dry beer. Flensberger do some great beers. Yet to try anything by them that I have't loved. They have a great Pils. (German of course). The bottles are nice to have also.
(really want to crush ein liter Pils right now)
I have to say, I really like Belgian beers and most of the few Saisons I've tried. Farmhouse ales (whatever style they fall into) I am somewhat indifferent to but I'm sure I'm ignorant of 99.9% of the examples out there. Had a few samplers at a recent beerfest.
Sours are something I want to learn to like.
I think they have got to be like Taiwanese stinky tofu. Smells like garbage (literally) but tastes great once you get past that. After a bit you don't smell it so much. Loads of foods are like that. My guess is sours are the same.

That's all well and good, if I understand what you're saying... I just, don't see those around here or I don't know what to get. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is Urquell. If I see a "crafty" pils, I just pass it up and get an IPA or so. Nothing against them, other than I haven't found one I liked.. and what I have tried is very few.
TLDR: I have no idea what I'm talking about when it comes to beer, I'm not really that picky.
Called gram on lunch to say hi/love ya/tell her some corny joke. Of course. She had already heard it and reciprocated with a very racist (yet funny) joke of her own. That little German/Irish lady is the coolest.

There are very few beer types that I know a passable amount about. I'm not picky either when it comes to buying beer. I'll pretty much try anything. The choices seem endless here in the US. Great problem to have in struggling to decide what to buy.
I could probably go the the beer section in Central Market (they have a big selection and do growler fills), put a blindfold on and choose beer this way. In all likelihood I'd be happy with all my choices.
If it wasn't for joining HBT I'd never have heard of a saison/sour/black IPA etc (the list is long)
I like beer, I guess is what I'm trying to say.

Its good science for lighting. We use red, green and blue to create a variety of color shows for buildings...the state of the art ones use RGBW and even statier of the art use RGBiW (intelligent, tunable white).

QOTD: chili beers. I don't enjoy drinking lava. I made a decent jalapeño saison that I enjoyed. But was almost too hot, pretty much every commercial chili beer I've had has been way too hot.
