The amusing part was how completely plausible the entire thing felt. Usually my dreams have weird surreal aspects that make me realize that I'm dreaming as it happens.

plz teach me how to lucid dream. There are a lot of people I need to berry pawnch

If you PM me a bad review, I'll post it for the world to see.

Top candidate is that rice wine - I know @ChefRex and others like the stuff, but I never really enjoyed it much. The one I sent you is pushing 2 years old, maybe it's smoothed out since then.

I'm saving that for the next time I stir fry. If I can't drink it, it goes in the sauce.

Your Saison and Quad are in the fridge, along with Joe's Old Ale and Gav's Vienna. It's going down tonight.

I bet I'll like it, as I like beer. I've had exactly one homebrewed beer that was tough to drink in all of this, and it was probably my fault. Not naming names beyond that. Friendly friends PM bad reviews.

Def mine and yes, it was your fault.

The rice wine is ok, the last batch of yeast I had produced very drinkable stuff, new yeast not so much and my ability to read Chinese tends to be lacking so I'm not really sure what I'm using.

Well, I haven't received any PMs, but I was curious if you liked mine. I feel like it was still a little green when I sent it to you.

Actually, even though I've shared with a lot of people (brewers and non-brewers alike), you might have been the first HBTer I sent my own stuff to.

That beer tasted like somebody took some oak flooring to a juicer...so much oak

I bet it could be fantastic now.

I joined in '12 as well, but don't post much.

First beer kit had og of 1.043. It was a Rye recipe that was destined to be the greatest creation that ever touched anyone's lips. Had I known how much og impacts the final beer, yeah would have gone over 1.060. Beer was a bit... Watery.

That was the pilsner, right? Great beer there. On par with Gavin's gold medal winner.

'12....has it been that long?
I think my first brew was like 6 months after signing up here. I spent months and months reviewing techniques and what not before I went in and tried my hand at an oaked arrogant bastard clone. I failed, miserably, but learned a bunch. That beer tasted like somebody took some oak flooring to a juicer...so much oak

I joined after my first extract batch and started learning all good things I should be doing. Too late to correct the fermentation temperature though and ended up with a wheat beer that I should have used to make loafs of banana bread. :ban:

Did 2 more extract batches the correct way and loved the results. Did 2 PM batches and realized I was over thinking the whole all grain process and moved to BIAB.

Not something you can really teach. Start keeping a journal and look for the signs. Digital clocks don't display right, that's a good place to start.

Guarantee the first time you realize you're dreaming, you'll wake up.

Nice spooky turd snakes

Had a friend in middle school who had a Warhammer birthday party one year. I think he just wanted to try and convince other people his age to play. Plus his parents spoiled him a bit too much. They gave out a few pieces to everyone as party favors. Thought about getting into it, painted one tank, never really got the appeal.

MTG was my jam for a while tho.

I know @coldcrash is a DFH fan. Paging @coldcrash

Who gets Good Friday off?

I do, going to be a a brew day ... :beard:

Trying to read any block of text always does it for me. On a sign, a book, a piece of paper. The words start swimming and shifting and blurring and nothing makes sense. And then I realize I'm dreaming.

Yeah, who's untaggable now, Gavin?! :p

Glad you liked it, though. It can't be easy trying to remember individual beers out of that haul.

That's why I have pictures. I'm sure I've forgotten more than I'll remember. Especially the night caps. I do try to drink the HB on a fresh palate, and not while half in the bag. My friends made those.

I wish I knew. I don't have the ability some people do where I can decide my work dream sucks and imagine Scarlett Johansson is giving me a lap dance instead. It's more like having a limited self-awareness of "is this really happening?" or "that person just turned into someone else...this must be a dream". Glitch in the Matrix-type stuff.

I used to lucid dream all the time when I was younger. I could change things, make them how I wanted them to be and then have the dream continue....its hard to describe, really.
Nowadays I guess I'm just so damn exhausted...I barely ever remember my dreams, although I still do wake up some times shooting almost upright and ready to a fight. After I got back I had real bad dreams, to the point where I though I was a danger to others around me.

That's the funny thing... everyone is like, 'zomg! Can you have sex with anyone then??'

Seriously, first thing I do when I become lucid? Fly. Always fly.

I can have sex whenever she lets me

Makes me think of The Machinist. great movie, even better directing

Ive had lucid dreams a handful of times. But every time it was something bad or uncomfortable and I tried to wake myself up. I'd love to just have a grand theft auto pass in my temporary dream world. Am I a psychopath? maybe

If I start to wake up, I start spinning around in circles and that usually keeps me in the dream, but I always end up in a totally different place after I'm done spinning.

I suppose the mind wanders when you're focusing on something else.

Same here, 90% of the time I couldnt tell you a single thing about any dreams I had in the morning. Its just head hits the pillow, alarm goes off and I suddenly have crust in my eyes. The only ones I remember are bad.

I want to go back to the days where I'd dream about getting an SNES with Turtles in Time and just playing the crap out of it

This makes for an excellent QOTD, if you could pick any super power what would it be. Let's save that until Monday, shall we?

It's probably too sweet for that unless that's what you're going for.
I usually don't stirfry sweet.
