Hope my extremely scientific jellybean calculation pays off.

I'm hopeful for you too. It's been a while since you won anything.

It would have been buried under 5 years worth of notifications. Or however long people have been trying to ask Gav science questions. I assume that long. I always assume you've all been here way longer than me. A lot of you really haven't.

Been here since Summer 2014 noob.:p

It's just...you brew such great beer. Psy too, floccer started here a month before me. CAD is an unknown entity. jak's been here six damn years. I bet his beers make angels sing while you pour them.

I dunno, I know this place made me a better brewer basically over the course of a weekend reading the beginner's forum. YMMV and such.

I'm at 270 hours right now.

Holy hell.. I get like, maybe half that despite promises of grandiose advancement upon accepting the job two years ago. You make me hate life more. Shame on you. How do you even let it stay that high? I've already taken a day or two off just because..

Beer nightmares are the scariest!

I use a rope tube & acquarium heater setup to warm my saisons. I have had repeated dreams that they turned upside down during the night and mixed all into the dirty dusty ass water in the tub. Of course SWMBO is all into dream interpretation so dont feel like mentioning it to her

120 hours vacation, and I'm on call 24/7 so I don't get docked time off ever. Boss man just kinda slides it into my review that I missed too much work...so I ask him if he logged it. Well...no. Then how on earth can you prove it? I work 2-3 80 + hours every year, sometimes more. I have an emergency call to the office a month usually, taking up 4-6 hours, depending. There's no way I burn 140 comp hours out of the office, and if I do miss for a sick kid or a sick Clint, I work from home a lot anyway. That put that nonsense to bed.

Dayuuuuum... that's a solid Gavburn if I've ever seen one.

Class of '14 has some good friendly friends, but I like the Class of '12 crew - @BeerMeDuffMan , @mcbaumannerb , @BGBC , among others

I get 27 days a year (216 hours, and that includes vacation/sick/any personal time really), and 8 holidays + 1 floating holiday. I can carry over 240 hours a year and when I leave that balance gets paid out (can't cash any in for $$ while I'm here, wish I could sometimes)

Been here 8 years. That balance slowly built up over time, now I just make sure I don't lose any hours. I've hit that 240 cutoff pretty much spot on the last couple of years.

Man. I will cut you so bad. I like my beer, its the other people that think it sucks.

I bet I'll like it, as I like beer. I've had exactly one homebrewed beer that was tough to drink in all of this, and it was probably my fault. Not naming names beyond that. Friendly friends PM bad reviews.

'12....has it been that long?
I think my first brew was like 6 months after signing up here. I spent months and months reviewing techniques and what not before I went in and tried my hand at an oaked arrogant bastard clone. I failed, miserably, but learned a bunch. That beer tasted like somebody took some oak flooring to a juicer...so much oak

If you PM me a bad review, I'll post it for the world to see.

Top candidate is that rice wine - I know @ChefRex and others like the stuff, but I never really enjoyed it much. The one I sent you is pushing 2 years old, maybe it's smoothed out since then.

I joined before I brewed, jumped the gun on a gallon batch of Moose Drool clone, bottled early, conditioned for a week. I made apple beer. It was so bad. The last of those 9 bottles of beer was drinkable. Naturally, I decided I could just wing it BIAB style and went all grain from there. First batch was a partigyle IPA/Blonde with recipes I made up in the store on Brewer's Friend. Both turned out really good...and now I'm letting saisons ride in infected carboys until a pellicle forms and bottling them anyway.

I haven't gotten better at this.

Beer nightmares are the scariest!

I had a beer dream a few days ago. I forgot to pass it on until now...

I was at an Oktoberfest-type event with SWMBO and our families. My mom brought me a big mug and said, "try this...they said it was a 'dop-pel-bock' or something like that? They said it's strong."

As she was handing it to me, the mug sloshed and spilled a bit. There was this overly-perky worker guy (think like the waiter in Office Space) who saw it happen and told me, "uh oh, you know the rules...you spill and you have to chug your beer!" So I shrug and throw down this 1/2 liter of doppelbock, while my wife smirks and shakes her head and my mom stares at me with this wide-eyed "how do you know how to do that?" look. :tank:

The amusing part was how completely plausible the entire thing felt. Usually my dreams have weird surreal aspects that make me realize that I'm dreaming as it happens.

I joined when I decided to give brewing one last shot. The increasingly absent @hello actually helped me out a lot with my first beer back. So. You all have her to blame for me sticking around.
