At Christmas, one of my brother's kids got a game that was like Chess, only the pieces had mirrors on them and one piece on each side shot a little laser when you press down on it. The idea was that you capture pieces by pivoting the mirrors to position the laser to hit a piece on a side without a mirror...you then captured that piece. At least I think that is how it was played. It looked pretty cool...but I'm a huge Chess fan.

Khet.

Never played it.

Do you do Disney or Universal when you go to Florida? Thinking about doing a day or two in Universal this summer with the boys while my wife takes our daughter to Disney. I've never been to Universal and was looking for some insider tips. If you ever need any info on Disney, I'll bomb your inbox with info.

We have gone to Disney 3 times since having kids. Never been to Universal. Typically we do not go to anyplace like that. My in-laws live in Florida during the winter and we just go down and stay with them. They have a nice in-ground pool and are close to the beach. We typically do not venture too far from their place once we arrive. Our trips usually coincide with opening day of baseball season, so my father-in-law will order some special satellite package that allows him to see ever MLB game...for just that week. I sit around at poolside, drinking beer, smoking cigars, and watching baseball all day.

My secret goal to suggesting Universal was wanting to have a Duff beer at Moe's tavern. I've wanted to that before I knew I liked beer. Its sort of like a secret childhood fantasy, to be part of that universe.
We have done Disney together with the baby at total of four times, six times total with the boys in tow. We are heading back in May for her birthday and the Flower and garden festival, August for summer vacation and a long weekend in December for the winter festivities and have a lunch and dinner or two with my grandpop.
The flower and garden show, btw, A+. Makes for a good time walking around Epcot, trying different foods and beverages from around the world and enjoying the flowers and topiaries.

The most I got at once was three or four amazing bifs at a time from extremely generous people that I may never be able to pay back. The beer filled an entire bookshelf, it made me so happy every time I walked by it that I didn't want to drink it.

I got a ton when I won the HBT fantasy football league. Only about half of the people in the league sent me winnings (and I told them all that this was fine) and it was still a ton. AllenH, Fins, Mark...and I'm sure some that I am forgetting...really over did it on their packages.

My box will be fashionably late as always. Blood orange saison should've been released in cans for the first time today. If I can afford it and find it, I'll get their limited release as well.

If you have teens, maybe you need something with even more strategy/edge.

Pandemic is a great game and can be bought at Walmart off the shelf.

Cash and Guns is a great party-type game. 4 is an ok number, more is better.

Elder Sign is set in the Lovecraft mythos... and just awesome. More involved, but a great game.

And one of my favorite quick-play games, Forbidden Island. Everyone that has played it has really liked it. The ~30 min play time is nice and the rules are fairly simple... but there is a lot of strategy and tension. And it's cheap.

GDMFSOB. every time I think I haven't wasted enough time on Catan

lasers + any type figurine = me growing up blind

Fins' box is scheduled to deliver today, but isn't out for delivery yet. Three scheduled for tomorrow, and Gavin's will surely be here tomorrow as well.

I found a box for mine and its sitting in my car to drop off at FedEx after work. Fingers crossed someone at FedEx respects the red "FRAGILE" on every side of it

Yeah, 2 from PA and one from NJ, and what I assume is a dishwasher box from CO. Yours still isn't showing a delivery date, a testament not to trust the man in brown.

This happens whenever anything I ship routes through Horsham for some reason, and only on the business side.
Ive shipped a decent amount of stuff to TX over the years, four days is about average unless some terrible storm is going on. Only time 5 day boxes happen is shipping out to the coast.
It'll show up tomorrow, in a non-descript TPR lighting box.

Didn't know you shopped in Stubby's. That's my go to place. Love going there. Thought your LHBS was closer to West Fort Worth.

Mine might be there today. I dropped off yours and my entry for NHC yesterday. The latter is due to arrive today to Austin so I'm guessing Weatherford isn't going to take too long. No update on the tracking yesterday eve for yours.

I wish my garage was climate controlled. Everything has to go in my closet where my shoes should be. My shoes are going in a tote in the garage. I might have room in my record cabinet for a small cellar.

We're at 75 lbs inbound folks. 7 confirmed shipped. That's discounting hunter's mystery Amazon order, and I know @m00ps box weighs near 20 just by what he wanted to put in it.

I am floored. You floccers are some of the best damn imaginary friends a broke ass drunk could have.

My new place just opened in May. I was a Stubby's shopper prior to that, for five months. I'll still buy bulk grain there, as they beat the new joint by $10 a sack.

It's actually showing scheduled for today now.

Lol... once you move past Catan, you'll never understand why you played it for so long.

No lie, I am super stoked to try your beer. My saisons have been my favorites yet, and that's saying something because my house IPA recipe is stupid good.

In college, we would have huge parties in a tiny apartment...it was so tight that you couldn't walk through the room. Two staples of our parties, which people who were regulars would start to chant for were:

1) Jump Around by House of Pain. 500 college kids in a 200 sq ft room bouncing up and down in unison.

and

2) Happy Happy Joy Joy

And this is why I didn't get into this. I would feel like a total dick next month when my stuff wasn't even packed up yet.

It would have bothered me none, BTW. If no one else on that list ships a single thing, I'm still buried. Benefits of being a lightweight who promised his wife he wouldn't get falling down drunk five times a week anymore. I'm holding myself to that.
