F'ing idiots at local Apple Store... Long story made short: they "helped" me a couple weeks ago by removing my hard drive for data retrieval since it wouldn't boot. Turns out they decided to discard the hard drive bracket in the process and now I have no way of installing the new HD in this thing.

Psh ya. Too much sugar at wine and chocolate event. Also way too many people there but wife had fun. Castle was cool but too preserved to feel authentic. Keezer should be here any minute. Stressing over dishing out that much cash, need get it over with.

Worth it. You're gonna love it.

Or the winner can blend all the beers they receive into the first friendly solera project

Now I really want to win.

Fun day on the slopes.

OK, finally adjusted the recipe in Brewer's Friend, looks like I missed my OG by 7 points... predicted was 1.075 (just at the DIPA "guidelines") and I only hit 1.068. This is literally the first time, when using at least partial-grain if not AG, that I have come in under my predicted gravity. Same setup, same procedures. Wow.

:(

It was not going to be a DIPA anyway, but with that big if a variance, if it had been supposed to be a DIPA, I would have missed by a long ways.

Eh. It happens. I under shot on my DEM by about .010. 2.5% overcarbed crap of a batch. I drank it all and hated it more every time.

Well, I am still happy with a 7% ABV IPA. It'll be hoppy as hell, as the rye pale ale I made is over the top with Cascade hops - can't even tell there's rye in it! The experimental hops I used are less assertive from my test though, and it has a nice grain bill over the rye PA, so these should be OK.

I am just wondering where I went "wrong".

Anyway, here's how I finished out my night, while waiting for the wort to cool & then after I got done with everything, cleaning included.

Awesome beer. A little pricey, but worth it at least once. I suggest to anyone, if you see it, buy it:

My 8-days-in-the-bottle rye pale ale - it's over the top with all Cascade hops. In these quantities, it needs to be cut with something else, IMHO. But still awesome!

I have an idea. Look left.

The AFPFFWD 20,000th Post Pool brought to you in part by Beermeduffman

Every entrant offers up one beer (bottle or can), to be shipped to the person who happens to post to this thread for the 20,000th time. If the person who posts the 20,000th post is not on this list, it will go to the next person on the list to post after post # 20,000.

You do not need to disclose what you are sending ahead of time.

Feel free to send more if you so desire.

If you would like to participate, quote this post and I'll add your name to the list.

Must participate to win.

For the sake of fairness, try not to spam to 20,000 once we get close. That ain't right. Any poster that posts more than 3 times in a row in the hunt for 20,000 will be DQ'd (this will be discussed amongst the friendly friends to determine if an infraction has occurred).

I'll keep track of the list. CUTOFF FOR ENTRY IS POST 19,750 – only open to the continental U.S.
