I have a barley crusher now (that just broke) and have had good luck with it, but I would do your homework being buying one. Their customer service is pretty terrible. If you ever have issues with it, its pretty much yours to fix on your own. I know many people on this site that will never buy from them again because of that and other issues with it. After using one for a few years and being happy with it, I would still never buy a new one from them. Check out some options if you haven't already. It may be cheap but you get what you pay for. Just my 2 cents. Cheers!

I have one too. Upkeep with the damn thing is horrendous. I have to remember to adjust the gap each time I use it. I have to pull out the shop vac after use and get all the grain dust out as well as blow it out with compressed air. Even then I still have to take it apart every 3 uses and clean it. Otherwise it will "slip" during use which will completely stop the operation.

Also, pretty sure the gnarls are worn out after 3 years but don't have the patience for the replacement. Worked good for about the first three months and that was that.

Go big or go home.

Exactly. I have actually never had issues with this mill in 2.5 years of use and this is the first time I have ever cleaned it out. From all the negative reviews about them, I think I just got lucky. Wouldnt ever buy a new one, luckily I got mine used and cheap.

Where were you guys before I just bought my new barley crusher. Dammit.

This truck popped by my office yesterday, so freaking good.

This is by far the best mac & cheese I've ever had. It's so good it made me wanna slap my momma. They sit over at Love Park pretty often if you are up for a walk.

Time to get fat

2 hour working lunch, spent a solid hour of it talking about brewing with a service rep I've known for four years and never knew he brewed. We did fire his company a year before I started brewing though.

Brew day on his 20 gallon system planned, work accomplished to some degree, IBC root beer, belly full of smoked pork tenderloin.

Happy Friday Brolecia Silverstones.

Yep. Sorry. Not complaining, just that one frustrating day a year that I have to fight to get a respected, comparable pay and don't get it. Everyone here hates my boss and knows he does nothing... except... for his boss, who loves him.

For what its worth, I've seen less and less construction projects for the philly area, and the ones that are out there get gutted and value engineered. When it comes time to submit for approval, 90% of the time I get a call back from an engineer asking me wtf happened to the original design intent. The amount of work, let alone quality work is dwindling...at least from my POV

Well.. the stuff we build doesn't stick around long and since I've done designs that are funking literally out of this world.. I think I deserve more than a steakhouse employee. Could just be me being greedy, and that's fine. But if that is the case, I'll go back to slinging steaks and have a helluva lot more fun.

I'm just counting down the hours until I meet my brother for post-work beers, since meeting for lunch beers wasn't enough.

Mac and cheese... My neighbor hired the Macmart tuck for his daughters graduation party last June. It was great, but I ate too much mac and cheese.

Saw the responses from you and Breezy

Only other option available really seems to be the monster mill... which would require me buying a new drill, on top of it already being $75 more expensive than the barley crusher. The overall reviews of the BC have been overwhelming positive, also, so I'm taking that into consideration

The buffalo chicken one...banging. making my mouth water thinking about it lol

Ugh. If I didn't have to drive to my parents after work I'd be going down for some Mooney's mac & cheese. Why did I accept horrible plans for a weekend? My only day off. I'm an idiot.

This weekend will be 'Netflix and chill' and hope no more babies are created in the process.
Maybe beer. I just dunno if we will have time

Just hoping to save some headache, that's why I mentioned it. Both the monster mill and barley crusher come in a 3/8'' drive shaft though, so not sure why the need for a new drill. I have had good luck with mine but that doesnt seem to be the majority of cases. Hope everything works out. :mug:

Pineapple Sculpin, say what?! Gotta get some of that.

I am going to call an early work release soon, go get the kids and enjoy this awesome afternoon.

Cereal killer

Functional no frills. Flimsy. $99

Works OK but if I was buying again I'd get a MM2. A much better product for a little extra $$

Monster Mill 2roller I believe

I'm also looking at the JSP maltmill now.

I have to take shipping/exhange into account for some of these though, since they're coming from the US

And I would need a new drill because my previous one broke. Because it was ****e.

I think if had done the shop vac and compressed air routine from the beginning, I'd probably be in better shape.

I've always wondering why its called the hopper. I realize that the definition pertains to its use in this situation, but it holds grain, not hops!
Hop grinding was a different thread.

Looked like milk before I scrolled all the way down.

Need coffee... don't want it. Want beer... can't have it. 5:00 needs to get here with the quickness.
