Sucks, man. Hope she feels better soon.

That sucks - hope she bounces back quickly. Gonna sneak a brew day in, or work on halving the cellar?

Oatmeal and coffee while trying to muster up the energy to do work...

Thanks. There has been a stomach bug going around that seems to take kids out for 1-2 days.

Gonna be a good dad for a change and take my son out to do something fun, once he decides what he wants to do.

Cellar halving will renew later today.

Holy ****, never had this happen to me. Incredibly embarrassing. So the bathroom here was in use, couldnt hold it any longer. Went over to the other building and took a ****. Go to flush and it clogs and overflows onto the floor! Guess it was clogged already? IDK. I didnt even use much TP. Thought about just bailing but I didn't know if anyone saw me head in, so I owned up to it and told someone so they could call rotorooter, lol. ****.

So.. you guys, uh.. you guys come here often? How about that weather huh? 40 degrees mid-January sure is something.

uh...

Coffee that's not cold yet. Man I don't want to work today. Or tomorrow, or Monday. Wonder how mad SWMBO would be if I tried to sneak a brew day in. I have 4 weeks until my planned RIS brew day on Feb 10.

Geoffey blew up my porch and also knew to have them delivered at proper serving temp.

This is almost what I had hoped it to be... Just delicious. Look at me! SoDak bro drinking fancy tropical beer. If this isn't what the Internet is for, I don't know what is.

So much wish I had brought back another sized of that. I only have one more left!

Thanks for giving one up for me, didn't have to, but that beer has been on my radar ever since I really got into craft.

Funny though, I didn't get any air freshener notes from it at all.

Might have been a bad batch.

:D

Loved the genesis, and just sent my Dreamcast to @Hello a year or two ago. Sega made great systems, but they couldn't sell water to a man dying of thirst in the desert..

Yup and I think I'm "paying it forward" to a kid who has gotten into "old time" gaming. :)

Decided to call my grandmother on my lunch break walk, just to say hi.. answered the phone completely bummed out and depressed. Immediately perked up when she heard it was me, had her crying with laughter by the end of the call. Nothing else matters today.

No lunch for me today, just water.

Dammit... I don't have enough likes for this thread.

This whole thing was a terrible idea. I'm going back to the other one to talk to myself.

Try posting something that someone is going to like. Just a thought.

It's ok man. I know your post to likes ratio is embarrassing compared to mine... I won't fault you for that.

Just don't get so down on yourself.

Question for anyone who knows the answer, or wants to give me a smart ass remark. :D

I'm putting together an IPA recipe in Brewers Friend. 7 gallon batch to account for losses. I plan on 1oz columbus at 60 (40 ibu), 0.5 oz columbus at 15 (10 ibu), and then the rest I''m doing a hopstand at 180 for 20 minutes: 1.5oz columbus, 1.5oz mosaic and 1.5oz citra.

My question is, how accurate is this in figuring IBU? What utilization percentage do you typically use? I have always done 5% but it suggests 10%. at 10% it says my IBU is 113 and I call BS. Any thoughts?

I use the app 99.9% of the time, so I never really bother myself with those numbers. Doesn't really matter to me.
If people like my posts, great. If not, they should and they are now dead to me.

Ba dum tschsssss

I think your cymbal needs some serious tuning. It always makes a different sound.

My question is, how accurate is this in figuring IBU?

I don't trust it, but you also have no reason to trust my opinion. That being said.. I suggest ditching all those hops and using Nugget for everything.

I was at the top for a long time on the other thread. Then I lost it. I'll never be whole again.

You're still the biggest 'hole in this thread in my eyes.

:D

Man, I struggle with this as well.

I'd say (from my own experience) it's going to be closer to 5%, but it seems no one really has it nailed down that I've seen.

Pretty helpful, eh?
