Also, no worries. I can just unleash a few herbal-earthy-spicy-tropical-piney hop farts while I'm on the treadmill. Boom. Either side is open. :ban:

I remember running on the treadmill, super sweaty, getting dirty looks from the young college girls going 2.5 mph next to me. I thought it was funny since they started after me but it was obviously my fault. Man I miss going to the gym.

If I'm there first, start right next to me at your own peril.

I ripped a loud one once at the bottom of a squat, cracked up and damn near dropped the bar.

Since we're talking about working out and treadmills... I have a trail race in September. It's about 18 miles over three runs. I'm starting at about zero right now (2 miles at 10 min/mi). Any tips for milestones I should aim for between now and September?

Blueberry Saison.

not too bad may need a little more blueberries.

I went through 3-4 last year. Always sucks.

Having this and making a starter.

Nice mugware.

Could you explain the over three runs part?

September is a lot of time, but it will fly by if you don't set incremental goals.

Having this from my secret santa after a relatively smooth trip home.

Ahhh, a Ragnar? Fun, I am doing a road version this September myself.

C210k is a good start.

You do get 8 hours between legs.

Seltzer.

It's a Ragnar trail. A team of eight takes turns running on three different trails (like a relay). I agree I have time and I love setting goals, but I'm not sure what I need to set to run well.

Yep! I figured I would start with something like that. It's good to get confirmation. I'm wondering if I should try to tackle a half marathon this summer, but maybe that is overkill. I might focus on some trail 10ks instead.

I like how you say 'start' as in, you know they won't be finishing their workout next to you.

They've usually left by the time I'm done.

I hate running. Necessary evil. I switch it up between treadmill, elliptical, and arc trainer for cardio though.

He was the guy I would ask.

Drinking water after gym. Finished a month of half strength-endurance (high rep sets but each set to failure), half cardio/HIIT. Starting a dedicated cutting month, mostly HIIT with a 1 steady cardio day a week, and cutting calories/carbs back a lot (which means no weeknight beer at all, ugh). And then back to another month of hard weights. F*** you weight plateau I thought I'd busted but actually hadn't.

Definitely do trail runs. With as short a leg as you will tackle, it makes sense to aim at 10ks to get endurance, and trying to move times that way.

Don't be afraid to have to walk uphill during the legs, as that is what a lot of serious (ultra) long distance folks do.

Do you need one? I must have missed something.

Sucks about the layoffs.

Yep on both counts.
Asked fins via PM of he had a spare as I got 3, 5 & 6.

Nope, that was last night haha I do have two of them so one is yours already. It may be a couple months before I can get that to you though. I've got 6-7 boxes I need to get out before then.

Thanks. I'll front load your football winnings for the LC.

Agreed you should find some races. Maybe a 5k in the spring, then a 10k or two over the summer, up to a 10 miler maybe a month out. Probably don't need a half unless you really want to. Trail runs over road races if possible since that's your final goal.
