Remember Psy, no hankypanky until after the fight.

I love this. Never knew that and now I have something new to google.

On a related topic and I don't care if anyone cares or not the Western side of the Panama canal lies further East than the Eastern side.

Also Panamax is a great word

That would be a SS goblet I'm assuming you mean.

Oh, how we laughed

Did you know; once upon a time, before Humbolt came along, people universally agreed that the pacific ocean was around 30' higher then the atlantic ocean, and thus a canal would never be feasible? They thought if they joined the two bodies of water it would create a great flood in the atlantic and create havoc in the pacific if they did.

Did you know that you can also see Russia from some Alaskan porches?

I could see the mist from Niagara Falls from my dorm in Freshman year of architecture.

Boss just halted a project I've been working on for a few days. Said nevermind, he confused that project with another... more wasted time. I've so had it. Going to buy a hot dog cart and just go hawk red hots on the streets. **** this.

Don' make my head all explody. I am still reeling from that damn E=MC^2 book that Gavin made me read.

If your interested in a good read on panama, check out this book.

Looks good. I'll get a free sample if it's on kindle and check it out. Got a bunch of books at the moment but that looks really good. Thanks might just pick it up anyway.

Maybe if you lived on Big Diomede Island on a clear day. (I'm going to ignore the S.P. aspect here, I know what you're up to Jakii)

Are you Ignatius Reilly?

Its known that there is 20cm height difference between the two...only because the atlantic is more dense and has a higher salt content. Back in the olden days it was thought the difference was significantly greater.

Duffman I did not know this. Humbolt. Same guy I wonder that has the Humbolt current and Humbolt squid named after him.

Yes and yes. So much modern science, species names, town and citys are named for the dude and nobody even knows what hes famous for. He was an excellent teacher that so many scientific greats of the time can directly state were influenced or even taught by him.

The Psylocide Kumdo/Kendo Tournament Giveaway and Pool for Friendly Friends

attachment.php

The rules are simple.

-PM me and let me know if I'll place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd this Saturday at the tournament

-I will add you to the list for that standing

-Of the users that guessed correctly, I will run a random number generator to select the winner and I will send them free beer.

-If I don't place at all... we all lose and you can make fun of me for being a ****ty cardboard tube fighter

Bonus: If my team wins the team sparring tournament, all names go into a random drawing for free beer

1st Place: Gavin C, TheCADJockey, pointcity-homebrew, m00ps, Helly

2nd Place: BeerMeDuffman, iijakii, coyote68, BGBC, blizzard

3rd Place: drainbamage, slym2none, Zekk

Thanks for the words of encouragement all.

Also, no need to tell me that you're picking 3rd place because you think I might be able to win but it betters your chances since there aren't many 3rd placers in the running yet.

For all you know, I could look like this:

@hunter_la5

Question, how many hadukans can you do before you are disqualified?

I dont think they limit you. Maybe 1 ippon each one that isnt blocked. You land a Shinku Tatsumaki Senpukyaku though, and its basically catching the golden snitch

Also if there is no 3rd/4th place playoff 3rd place is the smart move. If there is it is not a smart move as it still requires an additional victory after a bruising loss. 2nd requires a loss after a win.

Much easier.

Still, I'm sticking with 1st. Good karma perhaps for this weekend. Competing with my fellow Texan beer athletes.
