I had this one once, and the only thing I remember was that it was 23. For some reason it stuck with me, because I often think of that when I'm in a room with about that many people, yet I've only ever met 2 other people who share my birthday. I don't remember why it was 23 though.

You are correct on the 23. The reason you haven't met them is because it's not that someone else in the room will have your birthday, just that any 2 people in that room have the same birthday is slightly higher than 50%.

Because: MATHS, which I guess could be a subset of SCIENCE (or is it the other way around?)

Weirdly enough, I've met just as many Josh Smiths as I have people who have shared a birthday with me. One was a senior when I was a freshman, the other was a freshman when I was a senior. Weird.
