Talk to the ER/hospital, they will sometimes work on a reduction plan for a situation like that.

That's just before insurance. Haven't got bills from everyone, but our max out of pocket per person is $6,000 so I'm sure we hit that.

My wife had a pituitary tumor (benign) when we were dating.

Surgery was 8 hours and cost $900k to take that sucker out.

The OR alone was $18k an hour.

I think our health care system is broken.
