I remember Marion Barry (RIP) getting in trouble for referring in a televised interview to Polish people as Polacks, didn't realize it was considered by many to be derogatory. That man had no filter and was just real, and I loved him for it.

In the past few years I learned that referring to people as Oriental is a pejorative term. Only rugs can be Oriental, is what I was told.

Not that I called anyone that, I just didn't know...

I teach 8th grade boys about Jesus. We're still learning that ****** isn't a term of endearment.

Oriental, North Carolina. It's a place. Just saw that on the news the other day. In Texas, we have a White Settlement.
 
Apparently Michigan is EST. I had no idea until a couple years ago. Makes no sense to me.


I learned that the hard way a couple years ago driving from Chicago to St. Joseph, and missed a luncheon appointment for a customer...that I paid for nonetheless.
