But the Sabres suck and I'm not a Senators fan.
Worth it just to watch Eichel. Kid's insanely good.

I'm a Leafs fan, so I think I'm pretty familiar with not giving a toss about who's on the ice haha
Leafs fan in Ottawa? Awesome. Fight the good fight!

At least they're tackling the dysfunction in the front office in Toronto. With some good prospects in the pipe, they may have a product worth watching in five years. They'll be **** in the meantime, but if I was still a fan after the 80s, I can weather it.

Haven't seen you post a camo Busch lite in ages. What with your stock losses I'm wondering if your portfolio isn't heavily geared toward some camo printing firm or a lite beer company.

Haha... I think my Busch Light days are coming to a close. I still enjoy it and will buy it here and there, but my money is better spent on bigger beers.

If I have to drink 6 to start feeling it... The money saving effort goes out the window.

What's cookin tonight? That looks like way more food than you have mouths to feed.

Korean short ribs. SWMBO is working on other dishes. The inlaws are here from Taiwan. Staying with us for a few months. Kids are having a blast.

Yeah, don't wear that in public. Even I'll have to kick your ass. ;)

Bring it. Oh. And bring beer too. We can has drinks after some good old fashioned fisticuffs.

Just got to have my once a year fight with wife, what a week to not drink beer. On the plus side, least we shouldn't have another argument til next year.

Dark Mild (undercarbed I fear)

There's almost no such thing. ~1.1 volumes is the perfect amount for a Mild. As in, what is present at 55°F at 1 atm. I only prime by bottles and pins to 1.4-1.5 volumes. Any judge worth their weight will expect low carbonation.

Will forewarn you though, most BJCP are terrible judges of Mild as very few of them have ever had a good one. I stopped entering them for that reason. I recall one comp where my house Mild scored a 31, missed mini-BOS, another Mild on the same flight got a 32, barely made mini-BOS, then went on to win that category, and then take 2nd in overall BOS. End result, the judges had no idea what a Mild was supposed to be (I know this because a friend was on that flight and he told me, and then got a major earful from me about it, which in combo with another mutual friend doing the same thing about a different beer at a different comp, he doesn't judge any more, oops). If anything their complaints were backwards.

Back from a 10 hour work day for no reason. Literally the worst traffic today that I have seen in years (not including the death traffic of immediate storm aftermath, I've always been able to avoid those though). So many missing lanes either because they're being plowed or NOT being plowed, and the gubmint reopened today.

Petite Saison. F*** the dry week. Probably have one more, relax a while, and then hit the gym again.

Yeah, that kid has skills. If only the rest of the team did...

Time for a beer! I only do a dry day when hungover, or when swmbo points out that I haven't taken a day off in a while. Then on the dry days, she has to push buttons and make me want to drink. Fml.

Hotbox and tacos.

Sorry to heat cad, but i agree with survivingchildren, beer time!

Speaking of, having this bad boy while bottling my peach/cherry brett tripel. I will say this again cad, this is damn fine beer sir! Id certainly be proud of this one. Carb is perfect on this beer. Good work bud!

Lagers, obviously;)

Good luck Gav.

Thanks Chef

I'd try every one of those, esp. knowing you made them.

:mug:

Cheers mate.

Eh, missing one? Looked like 5 entry forms.

Well spotted. I'm entering the new entrant category also as this is my first year at the Texas Bluebonnett. 2 bottles only so I entered my Alt in this too.

Great info. Thanks. To be honest I wouldn't know a mild if it jumped up and bit me in the arse. Had 1 prior to this, your recipe, @psylocide 's brew. Very tasty. I like mine too even if the recipe is an abomination to simplicity (my cobbled together one, not yours).

All the stouts variants are good, this one was terrible though.

You're crazy. These are all great examples of the style or just overall great beers:

Wheat
pale ale
80 acre
the calling
dark truth
tank 7
long strange tripel
funky pumpkin
all of their imperial stouts
rye on rye
love child
saison brett
BBQ

I just listed 13+ off the top of my head....

I've only had 3 but they were top notch.

Having this after dinner. Very good. Pic is courtesy of my 4 year old daughter, at her request.

What's with the brewing science discussions during the day when I'm working? Because then I have to read back through and resurrect old posts if I want to chime in. You all suck. :ban:

Boulevard makes 5 good beers, maybe.

They are a gateway to craft and make a winner once in a great while.

The Irish Ale was the first of theirs I ever had, and was one that got me more interested in craft. Have been unfortunately largely underwhelmed with most since then. I'll give the smokestack stuff a try before passing complete judgment.

I think that's true of many styles, honestly. Usually the people most familiar with a style and good examples of it are more likely to be entering that category rather than judging it. I always wonder what would happen sneaking in a classic example of a style in a comp. I think they wouldn't even medal 90% of the time because judges let their own personal preferences outweigh what the guidelines clearly say.

I'm done treating tap water. First time a I built it from 100% RO and this is killer. MoMoClone pale ale FTW

Probably depends on your starting point. Treating tap is so much cheaper and easier than dealing with RO on my rig.

Let the night of many IPAs (well, 2 or 3 at least) commence!

Man... My sulfate levels are so high that I end up having to use up to 85% RO for malty beers and at that point, I might as well just start from scratch.
