What I think is worse than towing is wheel locks. That is BS. You could be standing there looking at your car, with money in hand, and nothing you can do.
Unless you have a sawzall in your trunk

I guess it must be the first time in history someone on the Internet was wrong.![]()
TwoHeadsBrewing has already posted a link that agrees with me, you should take a look. It was also mentioned to take this to the debate forum, so we can if you would like.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I refuse to enter or post in the debate forum. Moving this in there would mean I would have a post in there.![]()
There is nothing to debate, they didn't specify to him that they do not accept pennies before towing his car. It said in the link that a business is free to specify what currencies they will or will not take, they didn't specify that they will not accept pennies. They simply told him it was $88 and he showed up with $88. I don't understand this hate for copper that everyone has saying they wouldn't take the pennies. This business is already going to have to go to the bank to make a deposit, take the pennies along and they will dump them in the machine.TwoHeadsBrewing has already posted a link that agrees with me, you should take a look. The next thread topic: Is the penny outdated or needed in today society?
In before the move.
Pennies is money. They charged him money. He paid money.
The cops came because they were called. They were called because the tow yard wouldn't accept the money they were charging the guy to get his car back. It's the tow yard who wasted the resources.
Again, you're wrong. The company has the right to determine the form of payment, not the person making the payment. It really is that simple.
The towing company was doing its job. The douchebucket ******* in the video was intentionally acting like an immature fvckhead. If the cops didn't have their heads up their asses, they should have arrested him for using 911 for a non-emergency call.
So the towing company decides to hold his property after he has brought payment as set forth by them and this kid is the ******?
Where does it stop? Can I bring in singles and pay that way? If I can pay with 88 one dollar bills, why can't I pay with 352 quarters? 880 dimes? 1760 nickles?
Give the kid his car back.
There's making a point and then there's being a ******. He was doing the latter, besides it's been done and is completely unoriginal. And as I said he wasted the police officers' time and the tax payers money to pull off his little stunt. They had THREE cops there for ****'s sake, how is that worthwhile?
for the what seems like the 10,000th time they can determine their form of payment but the fact that they accept cash means that they have to accept pennies. If they said no cash or money order only then there would be no issue.
I do agree about the 911 for non-emergency though.
One last time...
No, they do not have to accept pennies. They are allowed to reject anything they want. This is just like a convenience store, where they don't have to accept $50 or $100 bills.
It is no different, and it is 100% legal on behalf of the business.
