The kid was 100% in the right. Read the back of money sometime. It says it is legal tender for all debts both public and private. I just think it's funny he had to dump it out of the box to push it under the window.
Yes, it is legal tender, but it is the person accepting payment that gets to set the terms of the payment, not the person paying. No business is under any obligation to accept any particular form of payment.
On top of that, this is a major ********* move by a major *********.

Wasn't the towing company's fault he got towed. What a tool.

On top of that, there are certain companies around here that ONLY accept cash, charge odd-ball amounts, and refuse to give change if you do not have the exact amount (which I am almost certain is illegal). If these companies are pulling ****** moves like this, I would gladly pay in 1/4 pennies if there were such a legal tender....
Right, but he is paying cash. If they accept cash, they must accept the pennies as payment.
The law enforcement officers in the video disagree with you. And who even cares, why would they not take it, it's money.I know this is not the debate forum, but you are wrong.

While mildly humourous, I think that guy is an incredible ****** for wasting tax payers dollars to have the cops come out to take care of that ****. Maybe next time he'll park appropriately, though I doubt he is capable of learning that lesson from all this.
What I think is worse than towing is wheel locks. That is BS. You could be standing there looking at your car, with money in hand, and nothing you can do.
Unless you have a sawzall in your trunk
I guess it must be the first time in history someone on the Internet was wrong.
TwoHeadsBrewing has already posted a link that agrees with me, you should take a look. It was also mentioned to take this to the debate forum, so we can if you would like.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I refuse to enter or post in the debate forum. Moving this in there would mean I would have a post in there.
There is nothing to debate, they didn't specify to him that they do not accept pennies before towing his car. It said in the link that a business is free to specify what currencies they will or will not take, they didn't specify that they will not accept pennies. They simply told him it was $88 and he showed up with $88. I don't understand this hate for copper that everyone has saying they wouldn't take the pennies. This business is already going to have to go to the bank to make a deposit, take the pennies along and they will dump them in the machine.TwoHeadsBrewing has already posted a link that agrees with me, you should take a look.
