So I'm a cider maker. Enjoy a good beer but I'm no brewer. Ran into a graff recipe and fell in love with the idea. So far my attempts haven't been bad. I enjoy the flavor but it needs more oompf in the beer department. The 4 gallons of cider drowns out most of the porter flavor.
What grains should I add to push the flavor? So far I'm thinking more black patent and chocolate malt but I'm unsure how far I should push.

4 gallon cider to 2 gallon porter? You might try a different ratio. I had very excellent success with a 50/50 blend of cider/strong scotch ale.

That's basically what I'm going for but pushing the flavor of a 3 gallon batch of beer into a 2 gallon batch if that makes sense. The apple flavor with the 4 gallons is perfect. Just the beer is lacking. Definitely needs a heavier hop dose. Some Citra or centennial will take care of that bit.
