    Every time I use a 6.5 gallon bucket to ferment the airlock creates a vacuum so if I have to pull it off it sucks the sanitizer into the fermenter. Has anyone had this problem and if so how can I avoid it?

    uv light would be your biggest enemy and it also depends on how close to the light it was. it is pretty safe to say that it is fine and next time for good measure wrap a light sheet or towel around it

    i bottled my first all grain batch 2 weeks ago now and abv was a percent higher than i expected. I have drank a few bottles over the last 2 weeks and it has yet to carbonate is there anything i can do to get it moving along?

    can iodine kill yeast

    i pitched the yeast in my second batch close to 48 hours ago now and i have yet to see any action in the air lock. the only change i had made from my first to second batch is i used iodie cleaner instead of a contact type. my question is can the iodine kill the yeast?
